PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Latias – 15 ingenious counters for the raid boss

The Air Adventure event is going on in Pokémon Go and for the first time there will be Legendary Mega Pokémon: Mega Latios and Mega Latias appearing for the first time in Pokémon Go! This counter guide is mainly about the red-colored Latias and how you can best prepare for the battle. It also learns a special charge attack during the event! Don’t miss it!

With Mega-Latias, a legendary Pokémon can be found in the Mega Raids for the first time since the introduction of Mega evolutions in Pokémon Go, wohooo – that makes it especially interesting, of course! And it’s not the only one, because also from May 3, 2022, Latias buddy Mega-Latios can of course appear in the Mega Raids of Pokémon Go. Those who have not yet been able to add Latias to their collection will be pleased – but that’s not all! Since Latias is of the type Dragon and Psycho, thanks to the Mega evolution it could become an interesting attacker with which you can give other pocket monsters a good run for their money in the PvE meta.

Mega-Latias as a raid boss

Mega-Latias, like its original form, is of Dragon and Psycho type, which means that the range of effective attackers is really wide. The most effective attackers against the legendary Pokémon belong to the following types: Beetle (boosted by rain), Ghost (boosted by fog), Ice (boosted by snowfall), Dragon (boosted by wind), Unlight (boosted by fog), and Fairy (boosted by overcast weather). If you want to get even more out of the aforementioned attackers, you should let them fight in the weather changes mentioned.

With the overhaul to Pokémon Go’s Mega evolutions, the difficulty level of Mega Raids has also been adjusted. However, since Mega Latias is a legendary Pokémon, the competition points are correspondingly high. It faces you with 80,545 CP! That’s less than its counterpart Latios, but Latias has a much higher defense value! Below is a list of the best counters against Mega Latias. You should go into battle with four to five trainers.

  • Mega Gengar with dark claw and spook ball
  • Mega Dogemon with tirade and parasite

Catch (Mega) Latias

Once you have defeated Mega Latias, its mega powers fade and it reverts to its normal form. So you don’t catch Mega Latias, but an ordinary Latias. In its normal form, Latias is also of the Dragon and Psycho types and has a value of 2006 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. When Latias is boosted to level 25 on Wind, it has 2507 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you much success!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
