PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Glurak X as Raid Boss – Counter Guide

The creators of Pokémon Go have also brought Mega Raids into the game with the Mega Evolutions, in which you will encounter strong and sometimes slightly adapted versions of “old” pocket monsters. In our counter guide to Mega Glurak X, we explain which mon you should go into battle with and what changes compared to Glurak.

While the mega-evolutions in Pokémon Go don’t change anything for some pocket monsters – we’re looking at you, Mega-Bisaflor – there are sometimes serious adjustments for others. A normal Glurak, for example, belongs to the types Fire and Flight. But use Mega to Mega Glurak X, and suddenly Glurak is a Fire and Dragon type pocket monster! Finally! However, this also means for the raid battle against Mega Glurak X that the mon is much more difficult to defeat.

That’s why we have a counter-guide to Mega Glurak X for you, so that you can successfully complete the Mega Raid. One more note before we get to the counters: If you won the battle, you won’t catch Mega-Glurak X during the bonus challenge, but only Glurak! That’s why the last section of the guide refers to Glurak and not its Mega Evolution.

Pokémon Go: Mega Glurak X as a Raid Boss

As mentioned before, Mega-Glurak X’s types are Fire and Dragon, so it doesn’t have a double weakness like Glurak and is much harder to defeat because of that. Mega Glurak X has 53,260 CP as a raid boss and with the perfect counters you will need at least three trainers to the mon’s wings. On the other hand, you are on the safe side with five to seven players.

In sunny weather Mega Glurak X will do a lot of damage with its fire charge attacks, so you should pack not only dragon but also ground attackers. In windy weather, it makes sense to counter Mega-Glurak X with Dragons – however, your enemy will then do an extremely high amount of damage with Air Slice and Dragon Claw, if Mega-Glurak X is proficient in them. If you have any doubts, use your best Dragon Pokémon and add Ground or Rock Mon. The following Pokémon have proven to be good counters for Mega-Glurak X:

  • Rayquaza with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Brutalanda with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Rameidon with catapult and hail of stones
  • Palkia with Dragon Rod and Draco Meteor
  • Zekrom with fire breath and rage attack
  • Knakrack with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Maxax with dragon rod and dragon claw
  • Reshiram with fire breath and Draco meteor
  • Dragoran with dragon rod and rage attack
  • Rihornior with catapult or clay clam and rock throw or earthquake
  • Dialga with fire breath and Draco meteor
  • Latios with fire breath and dragon claw
  • Terrakium with catapult and hail of stones

Pokémon Go: Catch Mega Glurak X

As already mentioned, you will not catch Mega Glurak X after a victory, but a normal Glurak. If you have successfully completed the battle against Mega-Glurak X, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Glurak has 1,651 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Glurak is boosted to level 25 in sunny or windy weather, it will have 2,064 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in your hunt!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
