PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Dogemon as Raid Boss – Counter Guide

Sooner or later, Pokémon Go players will have to face a new enemy in Mega Raids: Mega Dogemon, which the diligent trainers could unlock in September 2020. It is not yet known when exactly Mega Dogemon will join the ranks of Mega Pokémon known so far. Known, however, are useful counters for the fight! Check out our counter guide for Mega Dogemon.

During the Mega September, in which the developers of Pokémon Go lined up event after event, players had the opportunity to unlock several new Mega Evolutions. First up was Mega Tauboss, which can appear in Mega Raids since September 19, 2020. Next, Pokémon Go fans were able to earn Mega Dogemon.

Whether they managed to do so (we’ll be cheeky and assume they did) and from when Mega Dogemon will appear in Mega Raids is not officially known yet. Sooner or later, however, the pocket monster will appear in the Mega Raids, and you can prepare for Mega Dogemon right now with our counter guide. One piece of information in advance: It’s going to be a wet and merry one! As soon as we know when Mega-Hundemon will be in the game, we will let you know.

One thing in advance: If you have defeated Mega Dogemon as a raid boss, then you will not catch Mega Dogemon itself in the subsequent bonus challenge, but a non-transformed dog monster.

Pokémon Go: Mega Dog Demon as a Raid Boss

Like a Dogemon without Mega , Mega Dogemon also belongs to the Unlight and Fire types. Accordingly, its possible attacks also belong to the Fire and Unlight types – Fire attacks like Fire Fang and Firestorm are boosted in sunny weather, while Unlight attacks like Standpauke and Parasite deal the most damage in foggy weather. Because of the double type, Mega Dogemon takes more damage from all sorts of attacks, so you should focus on Water, Rock, and Battle type attacks when fighting. Ground attackers are also good, but you should stay away from beetle counters, because they take more damage from fire.

As a raid boss, Mega Dogemon has 53,826 CP that you’ll need to beat down – this works for skilled trainers with the perfect counters as a duo, but most of you will be better off attacking with three to five players. Or even with more, after all, the faster you send the raid boss to the boards, the more premium balls you’ll get. When fighting Mega Dogemon, it’s best to use the following Pokémon:

  • Mega Turtok with aqua gun and aqua howitzer
  • Kyogre with cascade and surfer
  • Rihornior with clay clam and rock thrower
  • Meistagrif with counterattack and blast
  • Rameidon with catapult and hail of stones
  • Terrakium with catapult and hail of stones
  • Machomei with counter and blast
  • Sumpex with clay shot and aqua howitzer
  • Kingler with blubber and crab hammer
  • Despotar with catapult and stone edge
  • Lucario with Counter and Aurasphere
  • Impergator with aqua gun and aqua howitzer
  • Knakrack with clay shot and earthquake

Pokémon Go: Catch Mega Dogemon

As already mentioned, you will not catch Mega Dogemon after a victory, but a normal dog monster. If you have successfully completed the battle against Mega Dogemon, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Dogemon will have 1,505 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Dogemon is boosted to level 25 in clear, sunny weather or fog, then it will have 1,882 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in the hunt!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
