PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Community Day in December 2020 – all info in the guide

On December 12 and 13, 2020, Pokémon Go will host Community Day December 2020 – another year-end Mega Community Day like in years past. We have all the info on the Pokémon, the Temporary Research and the purchasable Special Research for Community Day December 2020.

On December 12 and 13, 2020, Pokémon Go will host its year-end Mega Community Day, and as the developers at Niantic have already announced, it will focus on all the Pokémon that existed at the Community Day events in 2019 and 2020. So in short: a whole lot! We’ve already told you which 2020 Mega Community Day Mon in particular you should be on the lookout for as a metagame player. Here you can find all the information available so far on the schedules and spawn timers as well as the exclusive attacks of the selected pocket monsters.

In addition, we have already created a guide for you with steps and rewards for the limited research on Community Day in December 2020 as well as for the purchasable special research. This time we do not interpolate the individual tasks, which could be much larger due to the scope of the event. What is certain, however, is that you will receive a top-loading TM for the Limited Research, among other things. As soon as the Community Day starts, we will update the steps and rewards for the Temporary and Special Research for you. For now, here is the general information about Community Day in December 202.   • The December 2020 Community Day weekend will start at 06:00 on December 12, 2020 and end at 22:00 on December 13, 2020.

  • These Pokémon appear more frequently: Glumanda, Hornliu, Abra, Nebulak, Rihorn, Elektek, Magmar, Karpador, Porygon, Samurzel and Plinfa.
  • Pokémon in Raid battles: Karnimani, Squeak, Geckarbor, Flemmli, Hydropi, Trasla, Bummelz, Knacklion, Kindwurm, Chelast and Panflam
  • Pokémon from 2-km eggs: Karnimani, Quiekel, Geckarbor, Flemmli, Hydropi, Trasla, Bummelz, Knacklion, Kindwurm, Chelast and Panflam
  • Pokémon with exclusive Community Day attacks from 2019 and 2020: If you evolve the following Pokémon during the event, they will learn an exclusive attack. Don’t worry, trainers – even the attacks from 2018 can be learned again in the future.
  • Evolve Glutexo so that it knows the attack Fire Ember as Glurak.
  • Develops Kokuna so that it knows the attack percussion drill as Bibor.
  • Develop Kadabra so that it knows the attack Counter as Simsala.

On December 12, 2020, between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, the following will also apply:

  • The following Pokémon appear more often and are more likely to be found as an Iridescent Variant: Hornliu, Abra, Nebulak, Rihorn, Samurzel, and Plinfa.
  • Double Fang Stardust
  • Halved hatching distance if eggs are placed in egg incubators during this period
  • Smoke lasts for three hours during the event
  • Mega Gengar appears more frequently in Mega Raids

On December 13, 2020, between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM, the following will also apply:

  • The following Pokémon will appear more frequently and are more likely to be encountered as Iridescent variants: Glumanda, Elektek, Magmar, Karpador, and Porygon.
  • Double Fang Stardust
  • Halved hatching distance if eggs are laid in egg incubators during this time period
  • Smoke lasts for three hours during the event
  • Mega Glurak X appears more frequently in Mega Raids

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events).
