PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Buddy Challenge Guide

Pokémon Go fans will have the opportunity to complete the tasks of the Temporary Research Mega Buddy Challenge starting at 08:00 on Tuesday, September 22, 2020, in order to fulfill the requirements for a Temporary Research Halloween and Mega Gargoyle. In the guide to the Mega Buddy Challenges we have the info on the steps and rewards of the Temporary Research.

The Mega September, with which the developers of Pokémon Go celebrate the introduction of Mega Raids and Mega Developments, is coming to an end. Therefore, from September 22, 2020 at 08:00, the Temporary Research for the Mega Buddy Challenge will be active in Niantic’s pocket monster collecting game. To collect the Temporary Research rewards, you’ll need to complete the steps by September 28, 2020 at 22:00. And to make sure you can do this safely, several other bonuses are active during the Mega Buddy Challenge, which we’ll briefly summarize for you below:

  • Mega-evolved Pokémon stay in their new form for twelve hours during the event, not just four.
  • The duration of Knursp is doubled during the event.
  • Pokémon that are very large appear more frequently in the wild: Dodu, ALoLa Kokowei, Pinsir, Lapras, Relaxo, Meadowior, Woingenau, Mantax and Panzaeron. If you are lucky, you will encounter a Shiny Dodu. Pocket monsters that are rather large also appear in the raids.
  • During the event, you can get energy for Bibor, Bisaflor, Glurak, and Turtok via field research.
  • If you take a snapshot with your Mega Buddy, then a Pokémon of the same type may photobomb your snapshot.
  • Complete the Temporary Research to unlock the chance to get a Temporary Research during the Halloween event, then unlock Gengar’s Mega via it.

Note: It is not yet known which tasks you will have to complete for the Mega Buddy Challenge. However, it can be assumed that you will have to tear off all kinds of kilometers with your buddies and feed them. A mega-evolution can’t be ruled out either. We’ll list the four presumed steps and add all the details to the Mega Buddy Challenge Guide as soon as they’re officially available! Remember, you’ll want to complete the Temporary Research so you can get access to Mega Gengar for the Halloween event in Pokémon Go!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
