Original post September 9, 2020: With Mega Raids come Mega Challenges! Now that the Mega Raid Challenge has been active in Pokémon Go without its own Limited Research, bringing us exciting Wilderness Spawns like Abra, Tangela, Elektek, and Rihorn, as well as increased Mega Raid Spawns, the Mega Battle Challenge is coming on September 11. September 2020 from 08:00 until September 17, 2020 at 22:00 is about competing in battles against defenders, in battles against Rocket and in trainer battles – the Battle is excluded from this, by the way.

On the other hand, there’s a limited research that revolves around raids and battles. The crux of this event: if trainers complete 275 million battles worldwide during the term, Mega Dogemon will be unlocked in the Mega Raids. Fun fact: So far, it is not known whether or not the requirement for unlocking Mega Tauboss has been met. It is likely that we will find out in the morning hours of September 11, 2020.

Below we have the information about the Mega Battle Challenge event in Pokémon Go. It is not yet officially known which steps you have to complete for the Limited Research for the Mega Battle Challenge and which rewards you will receive for it. However, we are already creating the guide for you and will update it as soon as all the information is available.

Mega Battle Challenge – Event

The Mega Battle Challenge event will start on September 11, 2020 from 08:00 and will be active until September 17, 2020 at 22:00. There are 275 million battles to be completed worldwide, this includes arena battles against defenders, battles against Team Rocket, and trainer battles – but not battles in the battle league, keep that in mind! Then Mega Dogemon will be unlocked in the Mega Raids.

  • During the event, you can obtain Energy for Bibor, Bisaflor, Glurak, and Turtok through Field Research. If you use Mega Bibor in Arena Battles, battles against Team Rocket, or in Trainer Battles (without Battle League), Mega Bibor will receive a temporary CP boost.
  • The following Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild: Raupi, Hornliu, Paras, Bluzuk, Sichlor, Pinsir, Ledyba, Webarak, Waumpel, Zirpurze, and Burmy. If you are lucky, you will encounter a Shiny Ledyba.
  • Team Go Rocket uses other Crypto Pokémon during this time.
  • A limited research around raids and battles will be unlocked.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
