PoGO – Pokémon Go: Mega Absol for Halloween – Counter Guide

After a relatively long break, the developers of Pokémon Go are once again sending a new Mega Pokémon into the fray, namely Mega Absol. The Pokémon of the type Unlight is fought most effectively with pocket monsters of the type Battle. We have an overview of the best current counters against Mega Absol for you in the .

The developers of Pokémon Go have understood that Mega Pokémon are not as super-efficient as they had initially expected. After bringing at least one new Mega Evolution into the game every month and then having several of them spawn simultaneously in the Mega Raids, they pulled the ripcord in the summer of 2021. Since then, Mega-Mon have only spawned in turn. And on top of that, it takes a few months before a new Mega Evolution is made available. Good thing!

And accordingly, this is already a bit bigger news that for Halloween 2021 in Pokémon Go the new evolution Mega-Absol will be made available. The Unlight Pokémon will appear in Pokémon Go’s Mega Raids from October 22 at 10:00 AM until November 5, 2021 at the same time. Do you want to fight Mega Absol and collect Mega Energies to unlock Mega Evolution? Then we will help you in this guide with hints on the best counters for Mega-Absol.

Mega Absol as a raid boss

Like Absol itself, Mega Absol belongs to only one type, namely Unlight. Accordingly, it is best to use Battle Pokémon in battle. With 48,520 WP, Mega-Absol doesn’t have as many hit points as a Mega-Garados, but you should still go into battle with at least three other players for the raid if you want to be on the safe side. There is also speculation that you can do the battle with just two trainers, but they should be relatively high level and also have the perfect counters going.

Unlight Pokémon benefit from the weather boost in fog, but this will only be dangerous for your fighters if the Mega Absol has Psycho attacks. In other words, if your opponent has Psycho Blade as an instant attack, you might want to grab Mega Bibor or Togekiss for your team. Below are the current best counters for Mega Absol:

  • Lucario with counter and aura sphere
  • Meistagrif with counter and balancing blow
  • Mega Bibor with bug bite and cross shear
  • Machomei with karate chop and balancing punch
  • Hariyama with counterattack and punch
  • Mega-Schlapor with foot kick and focus kick
  • Zacian, Heroic Warrior with jerking punch and hugger
  • Kapilz with counterattack and balancing blow
  • Lohgock with counterattack and focus punch
  • Skaraborn with counter and vielender
  • Togekiss with charm and magic glow
  • Toxiquak with counter and balancing blow

Pokémon Go: Catching Mega Absol

As already known, after defeating a Mega Pokémon, you will not catch Mega Absol, but a normal Absol. If you have successfully completed the battle against Mega-Absol, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Absol has 1,443 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Absol is boosted to level 25 on Fog, then it will have 1,805 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in the hunt!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
