Original news from May 11, 2021: After the fans of Pokémon Go can already occupy themselves with the extensive event Illuminating Legends X with Xerneas, Pam-Pam and more, the follow-up event then awaits them on May 18, 2021, clear! Illuminating Legends Y! Unsurprisingly, the event brings the legendary Pokémon Yveltal into play, but not only that!

You’ll have the chance to box up Team Rocket as well as complete a Limited Research, still get the new Evoli evolution Feelinara in Week 2 of the event, can complete a Global Challenge to unlock Shiny Galar Zigzachs, and more! Check out our guide to Illuminating Legends Y for all the details, steps, and rewards of the Temporary Research – we’ll add the latter details as soon as the research is available in-game. Illuminating Legends Y runs from May 18, 2021 at 10:00 am until May 24, 2021 at 8:00 pm.

Yveltal and Feelinara

Yveltal appears in Level 5 Raid battles. This Unlight and Flight-type Legendary Pokémon was first discovered in the Kalos region. When its wings and tail feathers glow red, it drains creatures of their energy. Yveltal (go here for the counter guide) can be challenged in Raid battles throughout the event.

Feelinara, on the other hand, will not be unlocked until the second week (starting May 25, 2021) of Illuminating Legends Y. You can evolve Evoli to Feelinara by making it your buddy Pokémon and earning hearts with it. Some Evoli evolutions also appear in level 3 Raid battles: Aquana, Blitza, Flamara, Psiana, and Nachtara.

In general, Unlight Pokémon appear more often in the wild, so keep an eye out for Hunduster, Kanivanha, and other Pokémon. Are you still missing Pokémon that appeared in the Illuminating Legends X event? Then you’re in luck, because many of them are returning, such as Parfi, Fluffy, and Viscora.

Temporary Research with Team Rocket

Complete the Temporary Research around Team Go Rocket before the end of the event to encounter Unlight Pokémon like Galar Zigzachs. Speaking of Team Rocket, it has been reported that during the event and after, the following Pokémon will also hatch from 12-km eggs that you get from Team Rocket: Pam-Pam, Baldorfish, Larvitar, Absol, Pionskora, Ganovil, Zurrokex, Gladiantri, Skallyk, and Kapuno.

You’ll probably get a Super Rocket Radar this way to challenge Giovanni for Crypto-Zapdos, as the developers at Niantic had promised replacements.

Global challenge for Shiny Galar Zigzachs.

Players around the world have from May 15, 2021 to May 23, 2021 to work together to defeat a total of 25 million Rocket bullies. If the goal is met, the following bonus will be active from May 25, 2021 at 10:00 AM until May 31, 2021 at 8:00 PM:

  • For the remaining duration of the event, you will receive three times as much Fang XP.
  • If you’re lucky, you’ll come across an Iridescent Galar Zigzag! It is still possible to encounter an Iridescent after the event.
  • Galar Zigzachs will appear in level 1 raid battles for the remainder of the event.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
