PoGO – Pokémon Go: Illuminating Legends X – Limited Research Guide

The event Illuminating Legends X runs in Pokémon Go until May 17, 2021 and brings a lot of new Fairy Pokémon like Parfi, Fluffy or Viscora in addition to Xerneas in the Raids. In our guide to the Temporary Research of Illuminating Legends X, we have all the steps and rewards for you!

Update from May 4, 2021: Party time, trainers! The Illuminating Legends are out, at least in the event of the same name in Pokémon Go. The event brings with it a lot of interesting content! Until May 17, 2021, more Dragon and Fairy Pokémon will appear in the wild, including the new Parfi, Fluffy, Viscora, and – if you’re diligent in the Global Challenge – Pampam. For the Global Challenge, 500,000,000 Fairy Pokémon must be caught worldwide. The progress is not displayed in the game, but announced by the developers on Twitter.

Accordingly, the evolutions Parfinesse, Sabbaione, Viscargot and Viscogon and possibly Pandagro will also become available. The same goes for Xerneas, which you can find in the Tier 5 raids – check out the counter guide here. Galar Ponita is also the new Shiny. Fitting, after all, Galar Ponita is coming out of the research breakthrough until June 1, 2021 at 22:00.

Temporary Research on Illuminating Legends X

There is a Temporary Research on Illuminating Legends X that, among other things, earns you a Super Rocket Radar – which you’ll also need if you want to challenge Giovanni and Crypto-Lavados to battle. Instead, keep an eye out for the Field Research “Catch 10 Fairy-type Pokémon” and “Use 7 Berries when catching Pokémon”, as these will reward you with a Parfi or Fluffyling encounter. Also interesting is the field research, catch 10 Dragon Pokémon, then you’ll get an encounter with Kaumalat.

Original news on April 27, 2021: Wow! The makers of Pokémon Go have announced the Illuminating Legends X and Illuminating Legends Y events, and my oh my, they’re packed with new content – most notably new Pokémon from the Kalos region that will appear in Pokémon Go for the first time! From May 4, 2021 at 10:00 to May 17, 2021 at 20:00, the Illuminating Legends X event will take place and here, in our guide, you’ll find all the dirty details about it!

Xerneas and Yveltal

Xerneas appears in level 5 raids starting May 4, 2021. It was originally discovered in the Kalos region. Its antlers glow in the colors of the rainbow and, according to legends, it gives eternal life. The creators of Pokémon Go formulating their information to the community in such a way that it can be assumed that Yveltal, the legendary Destruction Pokémon, will then appear in Tier 5 Raids from May 19, 2021.

Parfi, Fluffy and Viscora

Parfi and Fluffling appear more frequently in the wild, just like other Dragon and Fairy Pokémon (such as Dratini, Trasla, Kindwurm, and Waumboll). If you’re lucky, you may even encounter a wild Viscora! Parfi and Fluffy can also hatch from 7k eggs and be obtained via event field research.

Rain Lure Module and Temporary Research

This lure module attracts Pokémon that like rain, such as Water, Beetle, and Electric Pokémon. If you are within range of a PokéStop with an active Rain Lock Module, you can evolve Viscargot (the of Viscora) into Viscogon. Viscargot can also be evolved when it is raining in the game. During the exclusive Temporary Research (details below), you’ll encounter Fairy Pokémon like Parfi and Fluffy and receive rewards like a Rain Lock Module.

Dragoran and Brutalanda with new attacks

Dragoran and Brutalanda can learn special attacks during the event. If you evolve Dragonir or use a charge TM on Dragoran, it can learn Draco Meteor. If you evolve Draschel or use a charging TM for Brutalanda, it can learn Rage Attack.

Global Pam-Pam Challenge

Players around the world have from May 1, 2021 at 02:00 to May 10, 2021 at 01:59 (times have since been corrected by Niantic) to collectively catch a total of 500 million Fairy Pokémon. If the goal is reached, the following will be active from May 11, 2021 at 10:00 am until May 17, 2021 at 20:00 pm.

  • For the remainder of the event, you will receive three times as much Catch XP.
  • Pam-Pam will appear in Raid battles for the remainder of the event, which would mark its debut in Pokémon GO.
  • If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter an Iridescent Galar-Ponita! It is still possible to encounter an Iridescent after the event.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
