PoGO – Pokémon Go: Hyperbonus Sword and Shield with Zacian and Zamazenta – Guide

Hoopa goes completely bonkers! The Pokémon that already caused chaos on the second day of Pokémon Go Fest 2021 with its Dimension Rings gives us the completely unexpected hyperbonus with its powers: Sword and Shield! Pokémon from the Galar region are on their way to us, including the legendary Zacian and Zamazenta! Check out our guide for all the details!

The third and last Hyperbonus 2021 is about to start in Pokémon Go and it’s quite something. From August 20 at 10:00 you can meet the Pokémon of the Galar region! Initially, it was suspected that Giratina might appear in the third part, since it is the top of the Dimensions trio, but the developers of Pokémon Go are coming up with a real surprise: The legendary wolves Zacian (sword) and Zamazenta (shield) will enter the raids in their heroic warrior form. We will explain the differences to you.

Update from August 20, 2021: We have added the steps and rewards of the Temporary Research. Attention: Legios will not appear in Raids as previously promised because of a bug. Instead, the developers of Pokémon Go have added Legios to Field Research (“Win 2 Raids”), and in addition, the caterpillar-like battle Pokémon is appearing more in the wild. In place of Legios, Machomei will appear in Tier 3 Raids in the first week and Gengar in the second week.

Hyperbonus: Sword and Shield – what can you expect?

Hoopa, the mischievous Pokémon, throws out its rings and provides a spatial structure that sends the first Pokémon of the 8th generation to the mobile devices of Pokémon Go players! These include, Raffel and its evolution Schlaraffel, Wolly and the evolution Zwollock and Legios.

But of course, the legendary wolves Zacian and Zamazenta are interesting. Since they only appear in their heroic warrior form, there is one thing to note. Not only do the Pokémon look completely tired and worn out, but they also only have one type each.

Zacian belongs to the Fairy type. However, if it carries its sword, Zacian becomes the King of Swords and now has the Steel type in addition to the Fairy type. Zamazenta looks similar. It has the type Fight. If Zamazenta carries his shield with him, he becomes the king of shield and gets the type steel on top of it (besides fight).

During Hyperbonus: Sword and Shield, both Pokémon will only be catchable in their weak forms for the time being. But of course, there are several other Pokémon to look forward to!

  • Raffel and Wolly will appear more often in the wilderness! You may also encounter Ice-type Galar Flampion, as well as Unratütox. If you’re lucky, you might even run into a Legios!
  • These Pokémon from the Galar region will hatch from 7-km eggs: Galar-Mauzi, Galar-Ponita, Galar-Flegmon, Galar-Porenta, Galar-Zigzachs, Galar-Flampion, and Galar-Flunschlik.
  • These Galar varieties also show up in their iridescent form if you are lucky: Galar-Mauzi, Galar-Porenta, Galar-Smogmog or Galar-Flunschlik! Below you can see when these Pokémon will also appear in Raids.
  • There will be an exclusive temporary research that beckons with Galar Pokémon as a reward!
  • There will also be field research where you can encounter Raffel, Wolly, or Legios.
  • In addition, you’ll be able to dress your avatar in the free Arena Challenger uniform. This uniform is worn by trainers from the Galar region who take on the Arena Challenge. You can also purchase a Dragon and Unlight uniform in the store if you want to show others that these guys are your favorite!
  • To add the right touch to your gifts, you can also buy new stickers in the store. If you don’t want to spend coins on them, you can also shoot more photo discs from Pokéstops or arenas, because you can get the stickers there, too.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
