PoGO – Pokémon GO: How to defeat Austos single-handedly – Raid Guide

In Pokémon GO, you will currently encounter the water Pokémon Austos as a Tier 2 raid boss. Normally, such a raid would not be worth mentioning – however, Austos has a few teases in store that will make life difficult for you if you want to contest the raid solo. In order to have the best chances against Austos in the raid on your own, we will give you a few in our guide.

Raids on Tier 2 are rarely a problem in Pokémon GO, even for weaker trainers in solo mode. However, things are a bit different for the water/ice Pokémon Austos. With its 15,678 CP and high defense, it shows no mercy on the battlefield and is exceedingly resilient. Based on a guide from Pokemongohub, we will now explain how you can still send Austos solo without any major problems.

It is best to face Austos with a trainer level in the range of level 30. You should use Pokémon of the type Battle, Plant, Rock and Electro. Austos will potentially make your life difficult with the following attacks:

– Ice Death (Ice type)

– Ice Shard (Ice Type)

– Avalanche (Ice type)

– Aurora Ray (Ice type)

– Hydropump (Water type)

The easiest way to defeat Austos is with the attack combo of Ice Breath and Hydro Pump – the damage output is relatively low here. You’ll have the most trouble if Austos has the attacks Ice Shatter and Avalanche. Austos’ attacks also benefit from snow (for ice attacks) and rain (for water attacks), while you should choose your counter Pokémon according to the weather conditions as follows:

– Cloudy: boost for battle attacks.

– Sunny: Boost for plant attacks

– Rainy: Boost for Electric Attacks

– Partly Cloudy: Boost for Rock Attacks

Be sure to note the effects of the weather to maximize your success in the fight against Austos. To counter Austos, we recommend the following Pokémon:

– Raikou with Thunder Shock and Surge: With Raikou, you have a strong ace up your sleeve with excellent electric attacks.

– Mewtu with Psycho Blade and Focus Blast: Mewtu has plenty of attack power and has good combat attacks. However, it is similarly hard to get as Raikou.

– Hariyama with Counter and Blast: Hariyama, with its good stamina and attack value, is a perfect all-rounder in the fight against Austos. On top of that, you can get it quite easily.

– Machomei with Counter and Lash: Machomei is one of the best fighting Pokémon in the game, but it has a weak defense. So complement it with a Pokémon that has a strong defense.

– Blitza with Thunder Shock and Thunder Lightning: Similar to Hariyama, Blitza proves to be a good all-rounder against Austos. Therefore, use it preferably in the rain to fully enjoy its electric attacks.

– Ampharos with Charge Beam and Lightning Cannon: Ampharos has slightly less attack power than Blitza, but is still good against Austos. His electric attacks provide a good amount of damage.

– Ho-Oh with Steel Wing and Solar Beam: Because Ho-Oh is of the Fire type, use it only if Austos doesn’t have the Hydropump attack. However, Ho-Oh has good attack and defense stats, and with Solar Beam in tow, it proves to be a solid option against Austos.

– Lohgock with Counter and Focus Beam: Similar to Ho-Oh, Lohgock is also a Fire-type Pokémon, so it should only be used against Austos without a Hydropump. However, because Lohgock resists ice attacks, it’s especially useful when Austos only uses ice attacks. In this case, it doesn’t matter that Lohgock has a good attack strength, but a rather poor defense.

Austos is definitely a challenge for trainers in solo mode, as it is much tougher than other raid bosses on Tier 2, but with the right preparation and a little patience, you should be able to defeat the shell Pokémon single-handedly. In any case, we wish you every success. You can also read more news about Pokémon GO on our Pokémon GO topic page.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
