In Pokémon Go, the new special research “A Leap in Time” is available, which allows you to unlock the mythical Pokémon Celebi. In our guide, we’ll tell you which steps you need to complete for the eight-part special research to be able to call Celebi your own.

In Pokémon Go, a new special quest was unlocked in the evening hours of August 20, 2018, called “A Leap in Time.” This involves eight different steps that you must complete in order to be able to call your Celebi your own at the end. In our guide, we’ll explain exactly what your missions are and what you can expect in terms of tasks and rewards. Of course, for each progress there are smaller rewards like experience points, Pokéballs or TMs.

Attention: In order to start the special quest, you should have completed at least step 3 of the Mew special research. This guide is constantly updated by us, because not all tasks and requirements are known yet. So it’s worth taking a look every now and then once Pokémon Go trainers around the world have figured out what’s expected of you for the next step.

Update from August 22: In the meantime, some trainers have been able to complete further steps, and it is now known what you should complete by step 6 of “A Leap in Time”. We have adapted the guide accordingly.

Update from September 4: All steps are known, so we have now completed the guide for you.

After you have fought so energetically, Professor Willow notices that the mythical Pokémon you are aiming for only shows up during peacetime. Therefore, the next tasks will be a bit more peaceful.

  • Make 3 new friends
  • Evolve an evolved Pokémon of the Plant type
  • Catch a Pokémon three days in a row

Rewards: 1,500 Stardust, 1 Sun Stone, 1 Premium Raid Pass

Because Professor Willow is so stuck in his research, it only now occurs to him that yes, there is a second besides Psiana – Nachtara!

  • Evolve Evoli into a Nachtara at night time
  • Walk with Evoli as your buddy for 10 kilometers to earn candy.
  • Trade a Pokémon

  • Use items 2 times to evolve Pokémon
  • Visit PokéStops 7 days in a row (most likely 7 days)
  • Use 25 Sanana Berries when catching Pokémon

Rewards: 5 Silver Sanana Berries, 1 Dragon Scale, 3,500 Stardust

Pokémon Go – Celebi: A Leap in Time – Step 7

This time, Professor Willow has found out that the mythical Pokémon makes nature grow and thrive – that is, trees and grasses. That’s why you’re hunting plant Pokémon.

  • Catch 40 Plant or Psycho Pokémon.
  • Land an excellent curveball throw
  • Earn a gold Johto medal

Rewards: 10 Silver Sanana Berries, 1 Charging TM, 1 Celebi Encounter

Pokémon Go – Celebi: A Leap in Time – Step 8

By now, Professor Willow knows he’s on to Celebi, and now it’s your job to catch the mythical mon and add it to your collection.

  • All three quests will be completed automatically

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
