Original news from March 22, 2020: the makers of Pokémon Go have announced a reunion with the legendary Gen 4 Pokémon Giratina. After Dialga says goodbye to the arenas from 10 p.m. on March 28, Giratina will return in its transformation form – but only for a short time. From March 29 (actually from March 28 at 10 p.m., but no new Raids spawn in PoGo after 9 p.m.) until April 2, 2019 at 10 p.m., you can once again face the Pokémon’s transformation form, before Giratina in its original form makes its appearance in the Tier 5 Raids from April 3, 2019 (again: actually from April 2 at 10 p.m., but no new Raids spawn at that time until the next day).

You’ll then have about four weeks to add Giratina in its original form to your collection as a Dragon and Spirit-type Pokémon before another change of Tier 5 bosses on April 28, 2019, starting at 10 p.m. The best way to face Giratina in its original form is with Dragon, Unlight, Spirit or Ice attacks, attackers such as Rayquaza, Dragoran, Palkia, Gengar, Mewtu or Despotar.

Pokémon Go: Giratina (Original Form) as Raid Boss

Giratina has around 41,776 WP in its original form. If you want to tackle the Pokémon as a Trainer duo, then you should face the battle with a Best Friends bonus as well as Level 40 Dragon Pokémon. Strong Mamutel and Gengar can also be helpful. Otherwise, approach the battle with either three to six high-level trainers, or six or more low-level players.

As a Dragon and Spirit Pokémon, Giratina’s attacks are boosted by windy, partly cloudy, and foggy weather in its original form. Windy weather boosts Giratina’s attacks Fire Ember and Dragon Claw; foggy weather, on the other hand, boosts Giratina’s Dark Claw and Shadow Strike. If you encounter Giratina (Original Form) in Pokémon Go in partly cloudy weather, the Antique Power attack will be boosted. If you don’t want to catch Giratina at level 25, then it’s best to attack in snowy or cloudy weather, because then the ice (in snowy weather) or fairy (in cloudy weather) attacks of your counter pocket monster will be boosted.

Basically, the following attackers are recommended for fighting Giratina (Original Form) in Pokémon Go:

  • Rayquaza with the attacks Dragon Rod and Rage Attack
  • Palkia with the attacks Dragon Rod and Draco Meteor
  • Brutalanda with the attacks Dragon Rod and Draco Meteor
  • Gengar with the attacks Licker/Dark Claw and Haunted Ball
  • Dragoran with the attacks Dragon Rod and Rage Attack
  • Dialga with the attacks Fire Odo and Draco Meteor

Furthermore, you can fill up your counter team for Giratina (Primal Form) with the following Mon:

  • Mamutel with the attacks Powder Snow and Avalanche.
  • Mewtu with the attacks Psycho Blade and Spook Ball
  • Latios with the attacks Fire Ember and Dragon Claw
  • Snibunna with the attacks Feint and Avalanche
  • Kramchef with the attacks Standpauke and Finsteraura
  • Banette with the attacks Dark Claw and Haunted Ball
  • Despotar with the attacks Bite and Crunch
  • Rameidon with the attacks Catapult and Tantrum
  • Giratina (original form) with the attacks Dark Claw and Dragon Claw
  • Deoxys (attack form) with the attacks Zen Headbutt and Sinister Aura

Pokémon Go: Catch Giratina (Original Form)

As mentioned earlier, Giratina (Primal Form) in Pokémon Go is boosted to level 25 by windy and foggy weather as a Dragon and Spirit-type Pocket Monster, and then has between 2,523 and 2,621 WP when caught. If Giratina (Primal Form) is not boosted to level 25 by weather, then it has between 2,018 and 2,105 WP at level 20. We wish you good luck with fighting and catching! Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
