And yes, joy also for those who have done it all and fancy their chances of getting a Shiny version. That’s because for One All Week 2020, Genesect will appear in Pokémon Go’s Tier 5 Raids for one week. If you don’t want to miss out on the mysterious Beetle and Steel-type pocket monster and take on the battle challenge, then we have for fighting Genesect in our counter guide below. We wish you good luck in advance!

Pokémon Go: Genesect as a raid boss

The mysterious Genesect belongs to the types steel and beetle and therefore has a double weakness to fire attacks. However, ground, battle, rock, and flying attacks also hurt it. However, you should not necessarily take rock Pokémon with you, because Genesect’s attacks Metal Claw (Instant) and Magnetic Bomb (Charge) really pack a punch. So it’s best to grab your best Fire Mon and give Genesect a run for its money. If you want to attack Genesect in the rain, which boosts his bug attacks, watch out for Anger Blade (Instant) and Cross Scissors (Charger). Last but not least, Genesect may have the Normal Charge attack Hyper Beam, which deals more damage when partially cloudy. We recommend the following Pokémon to fight against the coveted pocket monster:

  • Reshiram with fire fang and heat madness
  • Skelabra with firewhirl and heat madness
  • Flampivian with Firetooth and Heatstorm
  • Heatran with Fire Whirl and Fire Storm
  • Lavados with firewhirl and heatstorm
  • Lohgock with Fire Whirl and Lohe Cannonade
  • Glurak with firewhirl and lohecanonade
  • Entei with fire tooth and heat rage
  • Flamara with fire whirl and heat madness
  • Panferno with fire whirl and Lohekanonade
  • Tornupto with glow and lohecanonade
  • Arkani with Fire Tooth and Flame Throw

Pokémon Go: Catch Genesect

If you have successfully completed the battle against Genesect, the freestyle follows after the duty and you have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball. Then Genesect has 1,916 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Genesect is boosted to level 25 in rain and partly cloudy conditions, it will have 2,395 CP at perfect 100% IV values. Genesect can also be caught as a Shiny if you are lucky. We wish you good luck with the hunt!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
