PoGO – Pokémon Go: Firnontor – Counter Guide to the Raid Boss

The ice Pokémon Firnontor from the Hoenn region has made its way into Pokémon Go’s Tier 3 Raids, and if you want to fight it, you’ll probably want to bring skates – or your best fire attackers! Firnontor isn’t a particularly tough opponent, but if your level isn’t that high yet, you’ve come to the right place to pick up some for the fight from our Firnontor counter .

Once again, a few Raid bosses have left Pokémon Go’s Raid rotation and new Pokémon are on the way to mix it up for you and your Pokémon. Soon, the revamped version of Mega Evolution will go live, and Firnontor could potentially be an interesting ice attacker because of it! To help you succeed in the battle with Firnontor, we have up-to-date tips for you here in the Counter Guide! Fun fact: Any Schneppke can evolve into Firnontor, but only female Schneppke are able to evolve into Frosdedje.

Firnontor as Raid Boss

Due to Firnontor’s monotype ice, it has some weaknesses; these include combat, rock, steel, and fire. If you go into battle with your combat attackers (haha), you should hope for overcast weather. Because that gives them more power and they deal more damage. If the sky is partly cloudy, your rock attackers can ride into battle on an avalanche of boulders. When it snows, your steel attackers shine, and when it’s sunny or clear, your fire attackers really heat things up.

Firnontor stands in your way with 14,128 CP. Solo trainers with a high level and good attackers can master the raid boss in Pokémon Go alone. However, if your attacker repertoire is still being built or you’re new to Pokémon Go, find some other trainers to help you. Below are the best attackers against Firnontor.

  • Mega Glurak Y with Fire Whirl and Lohe Cannonade
  • Crypto Metagross with cartridge and star punch
  • Crypto Entei with fire fang and heat pelt
  • Crypto Lavados with firewhirl and heatthrob
  • Crypto Ho-Oh with incinerate and purify fire
  • Crypto Machomei with counterattack and blast

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
