PoGO – Pokémon Go: Electric swarming in the sky is back! Bug? Feature?

Actually, the Pokémon Go event Air Adventures ended on May 02, 2022 when the ALoLa troop moved on to Poni Island. However, for some reason, the Temporary Research Electric Flurries in the Sky has been re-enabled in Today Tasks, with new prerequisites. Here’s the info!

Update May 06, 2022: Oops, what happened there? Pokémon Go trainers noticed on the night of May 06, 2022, that the Temporary Research “Electric Blast in the Sky” is available again in the Today tab – and the tasks have changed! Electrostorm in the Sky had actually been turned off with the end of the 2022 Air Adventure on May 02, 2022, unless players had completed the steps.

So now the quest is back and rewards you with 50 Latios and 50 Latias mega-energies. However, since the steps have changed from before, it’s safe to assume that Pokémon Go’s reactivation of the swarm is intentional. You will need to complete the following steps, which shouldn’t take you more than a few minutes:

Electric Storm in the Sky (NEW)

  • Catch a Pokémon – Reward: 50 Latias Mega Energy
  • Take a snapshot of a Pokémon outdoors – Reward: 50 Latios Mega Energies

Rewards for completing the tasks: 3,000 XP, encounter with Balloon Pikachu.

Original post from May 4, 2022: May 2022 has barely kicked off and made everything new (well, at least some things), and the Air Adventures 2022 event has started in Pokémon Go. Along with features such as event spawns and a reduced hatching distance for eggs, the event also includes the Temporary Research “Electric Blast in the Sky,” which will earn you some Mega Energy for Mega Latios and Mega Latias and reward you with a Pikachu encounter.

So that you can also complete the Temporary Research, lots of flying Pokémon are currently appearing in Pokémon Go anyway – for all fans of the airborne icons out there. We’ll tell you what you need to do to get the Electric Sky and what else is happening in the 2022 Air Adventure in Pokémon Go!

Pokémon Go: Air Adventure 2022

Pokémon Go Air Adventure 2022 is active until May 8, 2022 at 8:00 pm local time.

  • During the event, the distance for hatching eggs is cut in half.
  • In the wild, Pokémon such as Glurak, Flying Pikachu, Mauzi, Enton, Dodu, Karpador, Mantax, Wingull, Pummeluff, Wablu, and Driftlon will appear more frequently.
  • From 7k friend eggs, you can hatch Togepi, Mantirps, Emolga, and eF-eM.
  • If you catch the Latios after defeating Mega Latios, it will be able to use the Spotlight attack. On the other hand, if you catch the Latias after defeating Mega Latias, then it masters the attack Fog Ball.
  • You can get more encounters with Pokémon via the following event-specific field research:
    • Catch 3 Flying Pokémon – Encounter with Flying Pikachu.
    • Catch 10 Pokémon with weather boost – encounter with Dodu
    • Defeat 3 Team bullies – encounter with Emolga
    • Reach 1 Crypto Pokémon – Encounter with Wablu

Electric flurry in the sky – Step 1/1

  • Catch 10 Pikachu – Reward: 50 Latias Mega Energy
  • Catch 30 Flying Pokémon – Reward: 50 Latios Mega Energy

Reward for completing step 1: 3,000 XP, encounter with a flying Pikachu.

As you can see, you don’t have to do much for the Temporary Research, and there should be plenty of Wablu and Wingull in the wild right now. But if you want to collect the reward, you’ll want to complete the steps by May 8, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. – because then, if you haven’t completed them, Electric Skies in the Sky will simply disappear from your log without comment.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
