Original news from March 1, 2019: 3, 2, 1, over is the word in our latitudes from March 2 in Pokémon Go, because then the legendary Dimensions Pokémon Palkia moves out of the Tier 5 Raids of the Niantic game and makes way for his buddy Dialga. Officially, Dialga will appear in the Tier 5 Raids starting at 10 p.m. on March 1. However, since no new raids will start here from 9 p.m., you’ll have to wait willy-nilly until March 2, 2019. Dialga is a Steel and Dragon Pokémon of the 4th generation, and forms the Dimension Trio together with Giratina and Palkia. Below we have listed useful and useful counter Pokémon in our quick guide to fighting Dialga.

Pokémon Go: Dialga as Raid Boss

As a raid boss, Dialga has 53,394 competition points, so it’s quite a hunk. As a Dragon and Steel Pokémon, Dialga takes more damage from battle and ground attacks. Dialga can be defeated by groups of two consisting of Level 40 players with Level 40 Pokémon like Machomei, Kapilz, or Hariyama in cloudy conditions and Best Friends bonuses, but it’s not easy. Typically, three to six high-level trainers can defeat Dialga. If you want to be on the safe side, go with a group of seven or more trainers.

Dialga is primarily boosted by snow and windy weather: In windy weather, Dialga’s instant attack “Fire Odo” and charge attack “Draco Meteor” deal more damage. In snowy weather, Dialga’s steel attacks “Metal Claw” (instant attack) and “Iron Skull”(charging attack) are boosted. And in rainy weather, Dialga’s charging attack “Thunder” does more damage. But if you want to have a level 25 Dialga boosted by the weather, you can’t avoid fighting in windy or snowy weather. Important for you: Your Pokémon’s ground attacks will be boosted in sunny weather, and your Pocket Monsters’ battle attacks will be boosted in overcast weather.

The following Pokémon are considered the best counters for fighting Dialga:

  • Machomei with the attacks “Counter” and “Balancing Blow
  • Kapilz with the attacks “Counter” and “Balancing Blow
  • Hariyama with the attacks “Counter” and “Blast
  • Lucario with the attacks “Counter” and “Melee
  • Skaraborn with the attacks “Counter” and “Melee
  • Toxiquak with the attacks “Counter” and “Strike”.
  • Groudon with the attacks “Clay Shot” and “Earthquake

If you need to fill up your team, you can also use the following attackers

  • Lohgock with the attacks “Counter” and “Focus Strike
  • Galagladi with the attacks “Kick” and “Melee
  • Rihornior with the attacks “Clay Shot” and “Earthquake
  • Quappo with the attacks “Smasher” and “Blast”.
  • Mamutel with the attacks “Clay Shot” and “Steamroller
  • Donphan with the attacks “Counter/Clime Shot” and “Earthquake
  • Mewtu with the attacks “Psycho Blade” and “Focus Blast
  • Rizeros with the attacks “Clay Shot” and “Earthquake

Pokémon Go: Catch Dialga

As mentioned earlier, Dialga is boosted to level 25 in windy or snowy weather. If you get to the catch screen after defeating the raid boss, then the legendary Pokémon can have between 2,771 and 2,884 WP at level 25. On the other hand, if the Dialga on your screen is not weather boosted and is therefore level 20, then it has between 2,217 and 2,307 WP. So a 100 IV dialga has 2,307 WP unboosted and 2,884 WP boosted.

As instant attacks, Dialga can have either the dragon attack “Fire Ember” or the steel attack “Metal Claw”. As charge attacks, Dialga can either use “Draco Meteor” (Dragon type), “Iron Skull” (Steel type), or “Thunder” (Electric type). We (and the authors of Pokémon Go Hub) wish you a lot of fun hunting Dialga!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
