PoGO – Pokémon GO: Customized attacks – These Pokémon benefit the most in PvE

After Niantic expanded the attacks of various Pokémon in the latest update of Pokémon GO, the of the game is also changing. Some Pokémon especially benefit from the additional attacks they can now learn. We take a look at what consequences the changes have for PvE in Pokémon GO.

A Pokémon’s role in the Pokémon GO meta is determined not only by its stats, but also by the attacks it can learn. This is why some Pokémon excel in and arenas despite poor defensive or defense stats, while others prefer to stay in the Pokéball despite good stats.

With the current update of Pokémon GO, however, Niantic has brought some movement into this system. The developers have expanded the move pool, i.e. the learnable attacks of certain Pokémon. Some Pokémon benefit particularly from this innovation. We will now explain which ones based on an article from Hub:

  • Roserade: The plant Pokémon with the highest attack value in the game can now learn the Charge Attack Shrubber – making it the best plant attacker ahead of Kapilz with Shrubber and Gewaldro with Flora Statue.
  • Kramshef: Among pure flying Pokémon, Kramshef has now secured first place thanks to Sky Sweeper. Only Lavados outranks it when you take on opponents that are sensitive to Fire attacks.
  • Donphan: Even though it still lags behind top ground Pokémon like Groudon, Machomei, and co, Donphan finally gets a decent normal attack with Clay Thrall – pushing it ahead of Geowaz in terms of DPS.
  • Machomei: The battle Pokémon is already one of the top attackers in Pokémon GO. However, since the update, it can also learn the rock attack Stone Hail, which makes it even stronger in arena battles and also scores points against Garados, Glurak, and Dragoran.
  • Hundemon: Similar to Donphan, Hundemon is not at the top of the DPS charts despite the update. With Flame Throw, however, it finally gets an alternative to its only fire attack so far, Fire Storm.
  • Ho-Oh: With Power Reserve, the legendary Pokémon gets a slight buff because it finally gets a chance to use a normal Fire or Flight type attack.
  • ALoLa Sleimok: With tirade, this Sleimok is slightly improved under certain conditions.
  • Aerodactyl: Stone Hail is the first viable charge attack for Aerodactyl, though it continues to lag behind the best Rock Pokémon.
  • Rossana: The Ice Pokémon can finally counter Unlight Pokémon with Focus Strike. However, it remains a glass cannon.
  • Piondragi: This Pokémon finally gets a normal Unlight attack with Bite.
  • Togekiss: Togekiss now uses Flame Throw to defend against its Steel counters.
  • Suicune and Starmie: The two Pokémon can also fend off Plant Pokémon thanks to Ice Beam.
  • Relaxo: The new Fury Attack gives you a (slightly weaker) alternative to Bodyslam for Arena defense.
  • Kabutops: With Waterfall, Kabutops can now use a double water moveset in combination with Aquawave – however, Aquawave is only recommended to a limited extent.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
