PoGO – Pokémon Go: Counter Guide to Terrakium – Shiny possible!

If you want to get involved in the Pokémon Go metagame, you should definitely grab Terrakium and add it to your collection. The only problem is that Terrakium, which can be caught as a Shiny with a chance, is a Tier 5 raid boss. This is where the perfect counters for Terrakion will help you in the raid. We have the best current counters in the guide!

Update from November 5, 2021: Terrakium can be found together with Viridium and Kobalium in the Tier 5 during the Light Festival 2021 and can be obtained as a Shiny with a good portion of luck. And because Terrakium is still a good rock and battle fighter, ambitious trainers will definitely want to grab the mon.

So if you like to raid in Pokémon Go, don’t miss the opportunity to add Terrakium to your collection and hunt for one with 100% IV value – especially since this time the pocket monster learns the powerful Sanctoklinge ability at 100%! We have the current best counters for the fight for you below in the current guide to Terrakium. However, we leave out the Crypto Pokémon, which are expensive to level.

Original news from November 14, 2019: It was only a matter of time before the legendary Pokémon Kobalium in Pokémon Go has to move out of the Tier 5 Raids and make way for another Knight of Probity. That officially happens on November 26, 2019 at 10:00 p.m., because that’s when the Rock Cave Pokémon Terrakium will take Kobalium’s place. You will then have until December 17, 2019 at 22:00 to encounter Terrakium in one of the Tier 5 Raids near you. To help you know which Pokémon you should choose to fight Terrakium, we’ve written a counter guide for you. We hope you enjoy the battles and the hunt for the legendary pocket monster.

Pokémon Go: Terrakium as a raid boss

Terrakium is a legendary Pokémon from Generation 5 of the type Rock and Battle, therefore it takes more damage from several attack types at once: Psycho, Water, Battle, Plant, Ground, and Fairy. On the other hand, it deals more damage with different attacks: In sunny weather, Terrakium’s charge attack Earthquake is boosted, and in windy weather, his Psycho instant attack Zen Headbutt is boosted. In particular, Terrakium deals more damage with the Battle Charge Attack in cloudy weather, and with the Rock Attacks Catapult and Stone Hail in partly cloudy weather. In both cases, Terrakium is boosted to level 25 and benefits from the STAB bonus, at least in partly cloudy weather and with the aforementioned rock attacks. However, since Terrakium has so many weaknesses, in theory you’re good to go in any weather. This is especially true in cloudy weather, because then your combat and fairy attacks are boosted, and Terrakium is also level 25.

In theory, you can knock down Terrakium’s 48,457 CP with three high-level trainers, but if you want to be on the safe side, you can take a few more trainers. A duo with Psychic Strike or Psychokinesis Mewtu can also stand up to Terrakium, but there’s no guarantee that you’ll actually succeed. The following Pokémon are especially good counters for fighting Terrakium as a raid boss in Pokémon Go (via Pokémon Go Hub):

  • Mewtu with confusion and psychostroke or psychokinesis
  • Metagross with cartridge punch and star punch or psychokinesis
  • Latios with Zen headbutt and psychokinesis
  • Kyogre with Cascade and Hydropump
  • Simsala with Confusion and Psychokinesis
  • Jirachi with Confusion and Kismet Wish

Furthermore, you can replenish your with the following pocket monsters in certain weather conditions:

In cloudy conditions:

  • Machomei with counter and balancing blow
  • Hariyama with counter and balancing blow

In wind:

  • Guardevoir with charm and magic glow
  • Galagladi with confusion and psychokinesis
  • Celebi with Confusion and Psychokinesis
  • Kokowei with confusion and psychokinesis or solar beam
  • Togekiss with charm and magic glow

In the rain:

  • Sumpex with any water instant attack and aqua howitzer

In the sun:

  • Groudon with clay shot and solar beam
  • Roserade with Razorblade and Shrubber
  • Chelterrar with razor blade and flora statue
  • Knakrack with clay shot and earthquake

With snow:

  • Dialga with metal claw and iron skull
  • Stalabor with metal claw and iron skull

Pokémon Go: Catch Terrakium

If you have successfully completed the battle against Terrakium and have the chance to banish the pocket monster into your Pokéball, then Terrakium has 2,113 CP at level 20 with 100% IV values. If Terrakium is boosted to level 25 in partly cloudy or cloudy weather, then it has 2,641 CP at perfect 100% IV values. We wish you good luck in your hunt!

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
