PoGO – Pokémon GO: Celebi event box sale – these offers are worthwhile

As part of the Celebi event, Pokémon GO fans can once again buy special boxes that contain various items. What you get in detail for your money and whether the purchase of the individual boxes is worth it, we tell you here in our detailed guide.

With the Celebi event, another new event has been launched in Pokémon GO – and with it, a new box sale. The question that concerns us most as players is: Which of the boxes is worth buying this time and which ones are better left aside? We will now address this question in detail here in our guide, which is based on recommendations from Pokemongohub.

As usual, Niantic offers you three box variants in the current box sale: the special box for 480 Pokécoins, the super box for 780 Pokécoins and the hyper box for 1,480 coins. This time, however, Niantic seems to have at least partially listened to players’ complaints. For the Celebi event, the developers have packed fewer Brood Machines into the boxes than last time – but stupidly, they haven’t also increased the number of Raid Passes at the same time. Accordingly, the yield from the box offers is rather mediocre overall.

The boxes offer the following contents in detail (we have put the savings in percent behind each box):

  • Special Box (480 Pokécoins): two Premium Raid Passes, two Incubators, two Lucky Eggs, 20 Hyperballs (Savings: 145 coins per box = 23.2 percent)
  • Superbox (780 Pokécoins): four premium Raid Passes, four Super Hatcheries, six units of smoke, five Star Pieces (savings: 1,170.5 Pokécoins = 58.68 percent)
  • Hyperbox (1,480 Pokécoins): twelve Premium Raid Passes, twelve Super Brooders, eight Lucky Eggs, twelve units of Smoke (savings: 3,370 Pokécoins = 69.48 percent)

Whether or which of the offered boxes you should buy depends, as always, on your priorities. You’ll save the most if you’re targeting spawn machines and Raid Passes. However, if you only want to buy raid passes, it is better to buy them separately as a package in the store and especially avoid buying the special and super box (here the savings are maximum 2.5 percent).

You should generally stay away from the special box – only buy the box if you urgently need Ultra Balls and don’t have any Pokéstops nearby where you could farm them. The Superbox, on the other hand, has a much better offer and is especially suitable for players who are short of money at the moment. In addition, you can grab star parts at a particularly low price here. Last but not least, the Hyperbox offers the best deal, as is often the case. Unfortunately, this box does not include Star Pieces, but otherwise it contains (almost) everything that the passionate Pokémon GO fan needs – especially the Raid Passes are worth a look at the offer.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
