PoGO – Pokémon GO: Catch heart Pandir with great throws – here’s how (quick tip)

PoGO – Pokémon GO: Catch heart Pandir with great throws - here's how (quick tip)
THOSE: NIANTIC

As part of the current Valentine’s Day in Pokémon GO, players can obtain a field research quest, after the completion of which an encounter with a Pandir beckons as a reward. This Pandir has hearts instead of points as a pattern. The problem: The field quest requires you to land five great curveball throws in a row. Now we’ll explain how to simplify this task.

Groudon is red, Turtok is blue, the catch chance for Pandir is pretty poor… *cough*. So or so we imagine a fitting rhyme for Valentine’s Day, which you can celebrate in Pokémon GO until February 21, 2019 at 9:59 p.m. as part of a special Valentine’s Day event. But why Pandir? The answer: as long as the event lasts, you will get the chance to catch Pandir after completing a special quest. This quest has rarely been available, but it’s currently available a lot during the event, so you don’t want to miss your chance to catch Pandir during this event.

The catch is that the quest requires you to land five great curveball throws in a row (sic!). Even above-average Pokémon GO fans will quickly break out in a sweat. The reason why it’s still worth the effort is because of Pandir’s special form during the Valentine’s Day event: As long as the event is active, you’ll encounter a Pandir after completing the quest whose red color pattern consists of hearts instead of dots.

The editors of My MMO have a few on how you can make the quest a little easier – and we don’t want to deprive you of them. Once you’ve received the quest for the corresponding field research, it’s time to hunt for certain Pokémon that appear more frequently during the Valentine’s Day event and are especially easy to land great curveball throws on. The reason for this is that all of these Pokémon have large catch circles. This makes it much easier for you to make great throws.

So keep an eye out for the following Pokémon if you want to complete the quest with as little frustration as possible:

  • Pantimos
  • Flegmon
  • Ponita
  • Chaneira
  • Schlurp
  • Porygon
  • Miltank

Also, if you want to prevent a Pokémon you’ve chosen for the great throw from using an attack and missing your throw, use a Nana Berry. This in turn ensures that the Pokémon does not perform any attacks. By the way: After completing the field research quests, you will encounter a Pandir in Form Five. If you have not yet collected this form, your capture of the Valentine’s Day Pandir will count towards the Pokédex – regardless of the fact that this is the special Heart Pandir.

We hope these tips help you complete the Pandir field research and that your next five curveball throws turn out great. For more of the latest news and guides on Niantic’s mobile app, check out our Pokémon GO theme page.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
