PoGO – Pokémon Go: Catch Art: Ghost – Catch Challenge Guide

The makers of Pokémon Go are trying out a new type of event for Halloween 2020: the Catch Challenge. It revolves around the Pokémon of the Spirit type and, in addition to a Limited Research, Field Research and lots of Spirit Pokémon, also brings Mega Energies for Gengar. Ergo, Mega Gengar is officially coming to the game! We have the guide to all the steps and rewards for the Catch Art: Spirit.

Listen up, dear fans of Pokémon Go, so that you can hear the boo hoo hoo of the ghosts in October. Of course, there will also be a ghost event for Halloween 2020 in Pokémon Go. This time, the developers at Niantic want to try out a new kind of event to heat things up, and that’s why they’re activating the Catch Challenge: Ghost Pokémon on October 25, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. This not only ensures that more ghosts appear in the wild, primarily Driftlon, by the way, which you can then also catch as a Shiny if you’re lucky.

No, during the Catch Challenge: Ghost, there’s also a Limited Research “Catch Art: Ghost “as well as thematic field research. These are particularly interesting because the developers of Pokémon Go promise that you’ll be able to earn Mega Energy for Gengar via some of them … which in turn means that PoGo players will have Mega Gengar officially unlocked and will be able to earn it sometime around the end of October. At least those of you who have completed the Limited Research on the Mega Buddy Challenge.

Another bonus during the Catch Challenge is bonus XP if you catch Pokémon during the event with good, great, or fabulous throws or with Curveballs. A true XP boon, then, for those who have not yet completed the Trainer Level 40 grind. Below is a short and crisp overview of the event. After that, we’ll put on the guide for the steps and rewards of the Temporary Research to Catch Challenge: Spirit Pokémon, which we’ll add as soon as the event is activated in the game.

Update from October 25, 2020: Steps and rewards of the Temporary Research Fang: Spirit are known and we have added them below.

Pokémon GO

Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.

Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights

Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.

Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.

Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More

The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from .gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
