Darkrai is coming to the Raids, Kryppuk can be obtained again – this time, among other things, from the special research An Eerie Revelation. Galar-Makabaja is also secured. And there is a Limited Research for the trainers who have unlocked Mega-Gengar. A few days before the start of the Halloween 2020 event in Pokémon Go, the developers at Niantic have let the cat out of the bag and revealed details about it. Halloween 2020 in Pokémon Go will start on October 24, 2020 at 02:00 and end on November 4, 2020 at 03:00. Due to the time change on October 25, 2020 to winter time, European players gain an hour, so to speak.
In addition to the big Halloween event, which comes with the special research A spooky macabre message, and promises you Kryppuk (also possible as Shiny) and Galar-Makabaja, there are also all kinds of smaller events; for example, the Catch Challenge: Ghost with Driftlon or also a Limited Research for Mega Gengar Energies for all players who have completed the Mega Buddy Challenge.

Halloween 2020 in Pokémon Go
- Halloween 2020 in Pokémon Go starts on October 24, 2020 at 02:00 and ends on November 4, 2020 at 03:00.
- Ghost Pokémon appear more frequently in the wild and in Raid battles, and hatch from eggs more frequently.
- This year, you can catch costumed Gengar and Zobiris! Costumed Gengar appear in Raid battles, while costumed Zobiris appear in the wild and hatch from eggs.
- Galar-Makabaja appears for the first time in Pokémon GO! Complete the new Halloween 2020 Special Research, An Eerie Revelation, to assist Prof. Willow in unraveling the mysteries surrounding this Pokémon. Note: The special research has been renamed by Niantic to A Creepy Macabre Message.
- You can catch Kryppuk as a reward for certain Field Research projects and at the end of the Halloween 2020 (A Creepy Revelation) Special Research. If you’re lucky, you may even encounter an Iridescent specimen! Note: The Special Research has been renamed by Niantic to A Creepy Macabre Message.
- Trainers who have completed the Temporary Research on the Mega Buddy Challenge will receive an exclusive Temporary Research in which they will be rewarded with Mega Energy for Gengar.
- Darkrai appears in level 5 raid battles!
- Take a snapshot – a spooky surprise awaits!
- Double Swap Candy as well as Double Catch Candy.
- On October 25, 2020, between 08:00 22:00 (local time), more Spirit Pokémon will appear in the wild for the Catch Challenge: Spirit Pokémon, which will also earn you a new Temporary Research.
- On October 26, 2020, starting at 9:00 p.m. until November 3, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. – the “weird” times come about because of the winter time changes, as the U.S. changes its clocks on a different day than Europeans – the Battle League will host the Halloween Cup, which only Poison, Beetle, Spirit, Unlight, or Fairy Pokémon with 1500 WP or less can compete in.
- On October 31, 2020, ALoLa Knogga will appear in the Raids more frequently between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm (local time).
