Original news from May 13, 2022: After the Community Day with Velursi in Pokémon Go was the absolute hit for most players – a new Pokémon in the game and then also as a Shiny – the Community Day event in May 2022 is rather a small disappointment. The focus of the event is ALoLa Gem, and yes, many of you will already have grabbed the pocket monster in any form. But there are certainly newcomers among the trainers who haven’t grabbed it yet. Then they should do so on May 25, because ALoLa-Geowaz is a very pat fighter in Raids and Battle League! Here is all the information about the Community Day with ALoLa Gem.
Pokémon Go Community Day with ALoLa Gems
Attention. Unlike the Community Day with Velursi, the Community Day with ALoLa Gem (on May 21, 2022) will not take place from 14:00 to 17:00, but from 11:00 to 14:00!
- During the event period, ALoLa Gem will appear more frequently in the wild and can also spawn as a Shiny.
- Evolve ALoLa Georok (the evolution of ALoLa Gem) during the event or up to two hours afterward so that your ALoLa Geowaz learns the instant attack Waltz. This fast attack deals 4 damage in Trainer Battles; 14 damage in Arena Battles and Raid Battles. Attention. Remember that evolving Goerok into Geowaz becomes free if you trade the Pokémon beforehand!
- 3x Catch Stardust
- Double Catch Candy
- Double chance to win Small Stone Candy XL for catching ALoLa Small Stone.
- Smoke lasts for three hours during the event.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take some snapshots during Community Day – a surprise might be waiting for you!
- During the event and up to two hours afterwards, you can make an additional special swap (maximum 2 that day).
- Each swap will cost 50% w during the event and up to two hours after.
- For $0.99, you can unlock an exclusive Community Day special research with ALoLa Small Stone: A Stony Road! You can now give the ticket for the special research for Community Day to friends! To do so, simply tap on the Special Research Ticket in the store and then tap “Give away” instead of “Buy.” Gifting is not possible if the recipient has already purchased or received a Special Research Ticket as a gift.
- If enough Pokémon are caught at a PokéStop with a Lure Module, the 3x Catch Stardust for Trainers near that PokéStop will be increased to 4x Catch Stardust for 30 minutes. This bonus does not count against the already applicable 3x Catch Stardust, but replaces it.
- In the store, you can purchase a one-time Community Day box for 975 PokéCoins, which includes 1 Super Brood Machine, 1 Lucky Egg, 1 Top Instant TM, and 1 Star Piece.
- In addition, a free box of 30 Hyperballs is available in the store – get them before the event ends!
Community Meet-Ups will also take place again; in German-speaking countries in the following cities: Linz and Vienna in Austria, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Munich, Oberhausen, Hamburg, Dortmund, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Hannover and Bonn in Germany. On the Pokémon Go website, you can find an interactive map that gives you more details, including virtual bonuses.

Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
