Starting June 3, 2020, the special research Champ of Nostalgia Challenge 2020 will be available in Pokémon Go. We will summarize all information about the Nostalgia Challenge Champ and the Nostalgia Challenge Celebration and update our guide as soon as all necessary steps and rewards for the special research are known.
You did it! For four weeks in Pokémon Go, you’ve been able to complete one 2020 Nostalgia Challenge Temporary Research after another, sometimes with more obstacles and sometimes with fewer – let’s just remember the raid requirement for Corona exit locks for Kanto research, the bugged reward for Johto research, or the annoying Pokémon of certain types of some steps in Hoenn and Sinnoh. Either way, you’ve either mastered all the Temporary Research… or you haven’t. It’s all the same for the next event, because starting June 3, 2020 at 13:00, the (Unlimited) Special Research Champ of the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge will be available to all players, with only one difference. Have you completed all the Temporary Researches? Then you will get the special research for free. If you haven’t completed all the Temporary Researches? Then you can buy the special research, which will cost you 8.99 Euros.
Update from June 3, 2020; 08:00 a.m.: All steps and rewards for the Special Research Champ of the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge in Pokémon Go are known and we have updated our Nostalgia Guide accordingly.
Then there is a special feature: those who get Champ of Nostalgia Challenge 2020 for free can buy the special research Celebration of Nostalgia Challenge 2020 for 8.99 Euros. The steps you need to complete for this are the same as for Champ of Nostalgia Challenge 2020, but not the rewards! Whenever you should be rewarded with a Pokémon encounter upon completing the steps for the “celebration,” you’ll receive candies instead. And if you should receive an avatar item, you’ll get stardust. That’s about it. Of course, it’s up to you whether you want to spend almost nine euros on it – we’d rather advise against it.
Important! We will expand this guide to Champ of the 2020 Nostalgia Challenge in Pokémon Go to include all steps and rewards as soon as the tasks are known. Currently, we can already tell you which bonuses will be active for ALL players from June 3, 2020 at 13:00 until June 8, 2020 at 13:00:

Pokémon GO
Pokémon Go is the mobile spin-off of Nintendo’s popular Pokémon game series for Android and iOS. It is a so-called “location-based game”, i.e. a game that uses the player’s immediate surroundings. It is based on the principle of augmented reality.
Pokémon Map: Between landmarks and sights
Pokémon Go uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to determine the player’s location and displays it on a map that also represents the playing field. The map is based on OpenStreetMap maps. The game is played mostly outdoors and uses landmarks, landmarks and other notable or eye-catching objects in the world to position either PokéStops or arenas there for you to battle for supremacy. Join either Team Intuition (Team Yellow, Zapdos), Team Wisdom (Team Blue, Arktos), or Team Daring (Team Red, Lavados). Under their flag you can then fight for the arenas, which are placed at hotspots like churches or similar. Pokémon can appear anywhere, though.
Pocket monsters visible on the Pokémon Go Map are randomly loaded into the game’s virtual map by the game server. If several players are playing in the same location, each player can see and catch the Pokémon independently of the others.
Pokémon Go Updates, News, Raids and More
The developers at Niantic regularly provide Pokémon Go with new updates or special raids that should only be tackled in a group of several people. The Pokémon Go Raids are therefore very popular, as they also offer the prospect of particularly rare Pokémon. For example, in the past, legendary Pokémon could always be caught on special occasions (Pokémon Go events). For particularly eager mobile or smartphone Pokémon trainers, there is also an external IV calculator, such as the online tool from Pokemon.gameinfo.io or on Pokefans.net, to check the values of your Pokémon.
