Players in CoD Warzone are dismembered by a monster

In CoD , the Christmas has started, but he brings not only gifts. Players are mercilessly hunted and brutally dismembered by the monster Krampus during their rounds. That makes for a lot of funny situations.

This is what happens in Warzone: It has become a tradition in most MMOs and multiplayer games to launch various events at Christmas time that bring bonuses and cosmetic items. This also happened in CoD Warzone.

Players can solve various tasks in the course of the event “Festive Frevor” and dust off gifts. But that doesn’t mean everything in Warzone is quiet and contemplative, because the game also unleashes the nasty Krampus on its players. And this one has a lot to offer.

For several days now, Krampus has been slaughtering his way through the matches and woe betide anyone he gets his claws on. These players are brutally dismembered by the fairy tale monster. User Niarbrebyc demonstrates exactly what this looks like on reddit:

The figure of Krampus traditionally comes from European folklore. He is a frightening figure that in some versions accompanies St. Nicholas. While St. Nicholas gives gifts to good children and brings them joy, Krampus punishes the bad and naughty children. In modern media and pop culture, the figure of terror has been used in horror films such as A Christmas Horror Story. More about Krampus can be found on Wikipedia.

Krampus causes chaos during matches

That’s why Krampus is a problem: While the fairy tale monster usually only has to deal with children in folklore, in CoD Warzone it has been beefed up by the developers. After all, it has to face off against heavily armed players with machine guns, rocket launchers and pistols.

It randomly appears in various Warzone matches and targets a player, which it then mercilessly hunts down. So if you get a message that you’ve landed on his list of naughty kids and are being chased by Krampus, make sure you have plenty of ammo.

The wild chase by Krampus has given many a CoD player quite a scare, as a chase with the monster in most cases ends in a very bloody death for the player.

For spectators and unaffected players, on the other hand, Krampus is a good show and provides a lot of amusement. So even your squad mates may not rush to your aid because they are too busy laughing at the moment.

Even in private matches, players weren’t safe from Krampus at first. FaZe Clan player ZooMaa tweeted in despair that the Pro Team’s practice sessions must have been really roughed up by the fairy tale monster:

“WTF is this Krampus thing in private matches!!! Are we being trolled!!! We can’t even practice.”

Is Krampus immortal? But even though it doesn’t look like it in the videos, Krampus is not immortal. When he has eaten enough damage, he disappears briefly and teleports to another spot near you. This happens 4 times until he finally drops dead.

In the process, he leaves behind thick loot, 1,000 EXP and a lot of money. You should fight him in the open, for example on an open place or on the beach, to keep Krampus at a distance. This way you won’t be pushed into a corner by him and can kite him in circles if necessary.

That’s what the developers say: The developers Sledgehammer Games responded to the complaint regarding private games on December 18 and got in touch on Twitter. They stated that Krampus will no longer appear in private games, this was changed by a quick hotfix.

However, the elves that players to cool loot will also no longer appear in such matches. So there will be a little less loot.

What do you think of the Krampus and the elves so far? Has the monster ever gotten you or your squad mates? Write us about your experiences in the comments.
