Activision has organized several so-called Free Access Events in the past. However, for Black Ops Cold War or Vanguard there have only been Free Access Weekends so far. CoD: Vanguard seems to have a problem with player numbers, it sold much worse than BOCW last year. To counteract this and attract new players, there is now the biggest free event in a long time.

What is the Vanguard Two-Week Free Access?

In the current Free Access Event, all players who do not own Vanguard can download and play the complete multiplayer with all content for free for two weeks. Yep, no €60 or more, you can just grab the game on Battle.net or the PlayStation or Microsoft Store and play for completely free. Of course, Activision hopes you’ll buy the game after the Free Access event… After all, that’s the whole point behind the promotion.

When does the Vanguard Free Access Event start?

The current Two-Week Free Access starts tonight, March 30 and ends April 13. Since almost all events in Call of Duty always start and end at 7pm, we strongly assume that it will be the same this time. Two full weeks is an absolute exception, this has never happened before. Activision must really be afraid for Vanguard if they resort to such means – when else do they ever offer something for free?

What are we getting in free access?

Short answer: The complete Vanguard multiplayer! For the next two weeks, all players will be able to play all the game modes, maps, operators and weapons currently available in Vanguard. This includes all the new content from the recent – Season 2: Reloaded update. Of course, weapons and operators can also be unlocked and leveled up normally in Free Access. For example, if you play Warzone, you can level up your weapons faster in Vanguard Free Access and have them in Warzone as well. All progress from Vanguard will be carried over to Warzone, even if you only play the free version for the next two weeks.
