Moria
The large, red planet of Moria has long been considered the most prolific mining colony in the Koprulu Sector, due to its rich mineral and fuel reserves. The first settlers of Moria were the occupants of the supercarrier Argo, one of the four colony ships that had transported Terrans to the sector. After crash-landing on the planet, the Argo’s occupants dismantled the supercarrier to access the valuable resources. They did their best to survive on their new home world, unaware of the existence of two other Terran colony worlds.
Sixty years later, second-generation subwarp drives were developed on the planet Tarsonis, allowing the three disparate colonies to make contact. After completing various trade deals, Moria experienced a significant boom in its mining and manufacturing industries. Dozens of small, family-run guilds tried to claim as much land as possible for themselves, and soon hundreds of refineries, factories, and mining facilities were springing up on Moria and its two moons. Over time, the larger guilds employed a variety of shady methods to eliminate competition until two major organizations dominated the planet’s economy: the Morian Mining Association and the Kelan Transport Guild.

These two powers gradually gained increasing political influence over Moria and the associated mining operations on nearby planets, moons, and asteroids. Meanwhile, the Terran Confederation, an influential government formed from Tarsonis and its colonies, was spreading its influence to other parts of the sector. Fearing that the Confederacy might use its military power to interfere in the thriving Kel-Morian business, the Morian Mining Association and the Kelan Transport Guild formed the Kel-Morian Combine. This corrupt corporate partnership promised military support to any miners’ guilds threatened by the Confederacy. From that day on, the already blurred border dissolves completely
The growing tensions between the Confederacy and the Combine later led to the outbreak of the Guild Wars. This bloody conflict raged for nearly four years, culminating in an unequal peace treaty that gave the Confederacy control of virtually all of the Combine’s mining guilds. Moria itself, however, was unharmed by the war, and despite the unequal terms of the peace treaty, the planet remained under Combine rule.
When chaos swept over the Koprulu sector with the emergence of the Zerg and Protoss, the Combine tried hard not to become part of the conflict. During the Brood War, however, the planet was invaded by an unusual combination of renegade Protoss and Zerg because of its mineral wealth. The invaders retreated after stealing resources en masse, but the attack weakened some of Moria’s defenses and destroyed a number of military and industrial installations.
Since the end of the Brood War, the Kel-Moria Combine has regained control of Moria and is focused on rebuilding its economic empire. The rise of the repressive Terran League has raised concerns among Combine leaders for the safety of their far-flung mining operations. Nevertheless, they have made plans to exploit other planets. To this day, Moria has a reputation as a prolific center of trade, industry and mining. Its vast, barren, and mine-rutted lands are a reminder of the Combine’s willingness to make profit at any cost.
Starcraft History
The story of Starcraft is getting more and more extensive. Already the first part and the expansion Brood War offer a lot of reading material. In addition, there are numerous Starcraft books. With Starcraft II, the story is expanded significantly. On this page we offer a lot of information about the complete Starcraft story. How the three races were created is listed here in chapters. This starts with the chronicles of Starcraft 1 and goes all the way to the campaigns of Starcraft 2.
In our summary of the Starcraft 2 prehistory we have listed information from fairs and other sources.
If you would like to know what happened in certain time intervals, our Starcraft timeline is just right for you. The most important events are listed there.
Protoss Tribes
Although the Khala demand that the Protoss abandon their old tribal communities and accept the new castes of Judicators, Templars and Khalai, many still cling to the customs and relics of the old traditions. The various tribes remain intact only to serve as a cautionary reminder of the mistakes of the old Protoss. With the rise of the Judicators as the ruling caste over all Protoss, the old dilemma of separatist tendencies and tribal claims is no longer a threat to the community as a whole. The most important aspect that has survived from ancient times is that each Protoss tribe has its own unique skin color, which can range from mottled grays to a deep blue.

Terran Factions
Starcraft History | Protoss Tribes | Terran Factions | Zerg Races Each of the various Terran military factions benefits from the advanced hardware and weaponry produced by the colonies in the Koprulu sector. Numerous factions modify their weapons based on the particular characteristics or preferences of their fighting troops. Most Terran tanks, aircraft, and war machines were developed and produced by private corporations, but the plans and technical blueprints for them have since been stolen, smuggled out, and bartered away, ending up in the hands of scientists from a wide variety of political factions and groups.

Zerg Races
Little is known about the various races that make up Zerg swarms. Terran scientists have begun to document and classify some of the larger races that have ravaged their colonies. What seems clear is that each particular race/breed is descended from a unique Cerebrate that carries out the commands of the Overmind. Each cerebrate has the power to build its own brood to carry out its tasks. While it is difficult to distinguish one brood from another, Terran scouts believe they have found that they vary in functionality and purpose. It is considered proven that certain races work so closely together as if they were intertwined extensions of a larger tactical force. Terran researchers have given the races names of monsters from ‘ancient Earth’ mythology.
