Korhal
Korhal IV is the headquarters of the Terran League, and its irradiated surface is a common testament to humanity’s warlike past in the Koprulu Sector. The planet is the fourth in the Korhal system and is often simply called “Korhal”. It was green and had a mild climate when it was colonized by the Tarsonian settlers in the early years of Terran expansion. Korhal soon became a key member of the Confederacy’s thirteen core worlds. The planet was notable for its advanced scientific and research facilities and for its contributions to many military and technological innovations. Nonetheless, like all core worlds, Korhal IV remained a vassal planet to the Terran Confederation and the corrupt Old Families of Tarsonis.
The energetic and respected Korhalian Senator Angus Mengsk became the leader of this movement. His efforts culminated in a Senate vote declaring war on the Confederacy if Korhal’s demands for greater independence were not met. In response, the Confederacy dispatched Ghosts. The psionic enhanced assassins were designed to kill Senator Mengsk and his family. The members of the Confederacy hoped to thwart Korhal’s secessionist efforts by silencing its most important and forceful voice. The Ghosts’ assassination was successful and they murdered every member of the Mengsk family on Korhal IV.

Only the Senator’s only son, named Arcturus Mengsk, was not on the planet at the time. Driven by his anger and sadness at the brutal murder of his family, Arcturus Mengsk became a central figure in the resistance struggle against the Confederacy. His rebellion initially succeeded, demanding billions in credits from Tarsonis and the Old Families. The Confederacy’s response was relentless. Their nuclear bombardment of Korhal killed millions and turned the greening planet into a radioactive wasteland of black grass.
Arcturus Mengsk was on the planet Umoja at the time of the attack, making plans for Separatist factions to rally around him. From the Umojoan Protectorate’s spy deck, he witnessed the destruction of his home planet. His anger and determination grew all the more, and he renamed the resistance movement the “Sons of Korhal.” The general public outcry over the nuclear holocaust on Korhal IV brought him a seemingly never-ending stream of support and volunteers. Taking advantage of their military focus on the Zerg invasion, Mengsk overthrew the Terran Confederation and became the Emperor of the new Terran League. One of his first edicts included the rebuilding of Korhal IV,
A vast amount of money had to be expended to clean up and rebuild Korhal IV. In honor of the deceased, parts of the Radiant Desert were left untouched. In the center of the capital Augustgrad – named after Mengsk’s grandfather Augustus – now stands his imperial palace.
Korhal IV was briefly occupied during the incursion of the United Earth Directorate, but the planet was retaken by Terran, Protoss and Queen of Blades forces, united in their hostility to the UED. Korhal IV’s defenses have continued to grow since Arcturus Mengsk reclaimed the throne. He turned Korhal into the most fortified planet in the entire Koprulu Sector
Starcraft History
The story of Starcraft is getting more and more extensive. Already the first part and the expansion Brood War offer a lot of reading material. In addition, there are numerous Starcraft books. With Starcraft II, the story is expanded significantly. On this page we offer a lot of information about the complete Starcraft story. How the three races were created is listed here in chapters. Protoss Tribes
Although the Khala demand that the Protoss abandon their old tribal communities and accept the new castes of Judicators, Templars and Khalai, many still cling to the customs and relics of the old traditions. The various tribes remain intact only to serve as a cautionary reminder of the mistakes of the old Protoss. With the rise of the Judicators as the ruling caste over all Protoss, the old dilemma of separatist tendencies and tribal claims is no longer a threat to the community as a whole. The most important aspect that has survived from ancient times is that each Protoss tribe has its own unique skin color, which can range from mottled grays to a deep blue.

Terran Factions
Starcraft History | Protoss Tribes | Terran Factions | Zerg Races Each of the various Terran military factions benefits from the advanced hardware and weaponry produced by the colonies in the Koprulu sector. Numerous factions modify their weapons based on the particular characteristics or preferences of their fighting troops. Most Terran tanks, aircraft, and war machines were developed and produced by private corporations, but the plans and technical blueprints for them have since been stolen, smuggled out, and bartered away, ending up in the hands of scientists from a wide variety of political factions and groups.

Zerg Races
Little is known about the various races that make up Zerg swarms. Terran scientists have begun to document and classify some of the larger races that have ravaged their colonies. What seems clear is that each particular race/breed is descended from a unique Cerebrate that carries out the commands of the Overmind. Each cerebrate has the power to build its own brood to carry out its tasks. While it is difficult to distinguish one brood from another, Terran scouts believe they have found that they vary in functionality and purpose. It is considered proven that certain races work so closely together as if they were intertwined extensions of a larger tactical force. Terran researchers have given the races names of monsters from ‘ancient Earth’ mythology.
