The absolute top guilds in WoW have long been more than simply “just” guilds that raid together. The structures have become more and more professionalized over the years, until at some point the Method guild took the plunge and transformed itself into an esport organization. A similar path was later taken by other guilds – for example, the current World First guild Echo.

Other guilds, however, have joined existing, large esports organizations. Professional esports have also recognized the potential of events like Race to World First. One example of this is the Limit guild, which was first founded under Complexity Limit and is now active under Team Liquid.

Pieces becomes SK Pieces

And now follows the guild Pieces, which was launched in the World First Race of the Sanctuary of Domination had still ended up in third place, followed this trend. As the guild announced via Twitter, Pieces has joined the esports organization SK Gaming and, along with it, changed its name to SK Pieces.

SK Gaming is an esports organization founded in Germany in 1997, which is represented in titles such as Counter-Strike, League of Legends and also StarCraft 2, among others, where it has been able to celebrate great success. Among the sponsors of SK Gaming, and thus now also indirectly of Pieces, are Deutsche Telekom and Mercedes-Benz, but also brands like Nike, Western Digital or Krombacher.
