In this video we celebrate five special FIFA moments again on the livestreaming platform twitch.tv. Joining us are xQcOW, Castro_1021, MontanaBlack, MckyTV, DieHahn, AmarCoD, MoAuba and EliasN97. Because especially children and teenagers, who buy the game every year at full price, want to be able to keep up with the teams of their colleagues and classmates on the playground.

FIFA Mobile is no exception

On January 18th the newest version of FIFA Mobile has been released. Actually a gameplay review would have been appropriate. But after eternal tutorials and skill games for which you get some tokens with which you can make some games of chance to hopefully get a mediocre map, the game was simply a quite slimmed down version of the actual soccer simulation.

From the very first start, it’s clear Pay 2 Win is writ large in this version as well. Goal Tokens, Foundation Points, FIFA Points, Gems, Coins, Skill Boosts and and….. The number of in-game currencies is hard to keep track of. You get a few of these currencies every now and then, but not enough to really afford anything from them.

Instead, more of these currencies are offered at a high price for real money. Even better, you offer one in-game currency for another in-game currency, which in turn can be bought with real money. Clever, right?

I play Fifa Mobile from EA. A game that lives on microtransactions and Pay 2 Win. I am since the launch of the game (think 2016) stabdhafter F2P and always well in the race. But the game is pure rip-off and it is manipulated wherever possible.

Small calculation example

If you want to use the TOTW special offer, it costs 1500 FIFA Points or 3750 Gems. But you can’t buy 1500 FIFA Points, you can only buy 1050 Points or 2200 Points. These then cost 19,99€.

Then you buy the “special offer” with Gems. 3750 Gems are needed. 1000 Gems cost 400 FIFA Points. So you have to buy 4000 Gems, which are 1600 FIFA Points. As already written, there is only the offer of 2200 Points, which once again cost 19,99€.

At least not a full price title

There is a small ray of hope for casual gamers. If you don’t aim for a high ranking, you’ll still make good progress. Sometimes here and there a free player, a little luck with the one or other skillgame, then you can already build a team with which you can have fun. But as always with FIFA, if you want to play at the top, you have to spend money and that should not be lost in gaming.
