The Valorant Champions Tour is finally back! Currently, qualifiers are underway in each region, but some organizations are making last minute roster changes. Here are the most important of them.
As of now, Valorant Esport is back on the menu! VCT Stage 3 has begun and teams are currently trying to earn a spot in the Stage 3 Challengers main event. Unfortunately, not all teams will qualify, which means we should expect more Roster Changes in about a week.
Luminosity Gaming with big changes
There were a lot of changes in the Valorant squad of Luminosity Gaming yesterday. The organization signed ban and dazzLe. TiGG joined as a replacement player, while the team’s coach left the organization. It is not yet clear what led him to make this move.
Luminosity is playing in the VCT Stage 3 Challengers NA Qualifiers. North America is considered the most competitive region in Valorant and the competition there will definitely be fierce. Is the new roster up to it? We will find out in the next few days.
XSET put thwifo on the bench
Another Valorant team made some last-minute changes as XSET benched thwifo.
As of now, thwifo is a free agent and looking for a new team. It is unclear which organization he will join, but we will probably find out this month.
Lakia returns to Vision Strikers
Lakia was NUTURN GAMING’s MVP during Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik, but now he has decided to return to Vision Strikers.
Vision Strikers was Lakia’s first Valorant team and over a year later he is finally back. The Vision Strikers are arguably the top team in South Korea, with first place finishes in almost every event they have participated in. Their only flop was during VCT 2021: Korea Stage 2 Challengers, which cost them their spot in Reykjavik. With Lakia back on the team, their success is guaranteed.
TSM put drone on the bench
As expected, TSM’s failure in the open qualifying rounds for Stage 3 Challengers 1 led to some changes in the squad. The NA team benched drone and is now looking for a new recruit before the next qualifying round.
X10 Esports bench Patiphan
X10 Esports is the top Valorant team in Thailand and they just benched their star player – Patiphan. The former Overwatch pro was one of the MVPs during Stage 2 Masters Reykjavik, but he is now on break due to a wrist injury.
Zeus will stand in for Patiphan until he recovers.
Andbox part ways with seb
Andbox failed in the NA Stage 3 Challengers 1 Open Qualifiers and roster changes are already in full swing. On July 10, the organization parted ways with seb.
Andbox’s Valorant squad is now down to four players. The qualifying rounds for Stage 3 Challengers 2 are still over a week away and they still have time to replenish their ranks. Who will be the fifth in the bunch?
T1 Academy commit Flyuh and v1c
T1 failed to find success in the recent NA Stage 3 Challengers 1 qualifiers. Their Academy team was missing two players after ANS returned to competitive Overwatch and Dawn was promoted to the T1 main squad. With the signing of Flyuh and v1c, T1 Academy is now back up to five players.
Vision Strikers put Zest on the bench
Earlier this month Lakia joined the Vision Strikers and now Zest has been benched. You’re probably thinking to yourselves that this is pure coincidence, but Zest was actually put on sick leave.
Even with Zest on the bench, the Vision Strikers have six players on their Valorant roster. It is unclear who will be the reserves.
Ninjas in Pyjamas sign ec1s, Ex6TenZ becomes coach
Ninjas in Pyjamas failed in the recent qualifying rounds for EU Stage 3 Challengers 1, and the roster changes were only expected. NiP signed ec1s, while Ex6TenZ became an assistant coach.
Kaboose retires
Kaboose was inactive in Team Envy towards the end of June. Exactly two weeks later he announced his official retirement.
Tanizhq leaves OG for SuperMassive Blaze
OG coach and manager Tanizhq parted ways with the organization yesterday and joined the ranks of SuperMassive Blaze as a coach. The Turkish Valorant team is the result of a merger between Blaze Esports and SuperMassive Esports, which took place on June 1.
Tanizhq has had much success as a coach with Team Heretics. He moved to OG in mid-June and spent less than a month with the European team. Will he be able to take SuperMassive Blaze to a new level?
Those were all the major Valorant roster changes so far. The month of July is only a few days old though, expect some changes once the qualifiers are set and finalized.
Thief is back at Luminosity Gaming
Thief was loaned to Version1 by Luminosity Gaming for the duration of the Stage 3 Challengers 1 main event and qualifiers. Now that the tournaments are already behind us, Thief is back on the Luminosity bench.
Na’Vi complete their Valorant team
About a month ago, Cloud was introduced as Natus Vincere’s first Valorant player. Last Friday, they completed the roster with four more players, a coach and an analyst. Na’Vi signed the remaining roster of Worst Players – 7ssk7, dinkzj, arch and Duno. Meanwhile, SmartSeven joined as a coach.
Heretics replace ardiis with Amilwa
It seems that the roster changes in June were not enough for the Heretics. The European valorant team benched Ardiis due to health problems and signed Amilwa in his place.
Team BDS sign GatsH
Team BDS is one of the youngest teams on the Valorant competition scene. Despite the fact that they were only formed in April, the team qualified for the Stage 3 Challengers 1 Main Event in Europe. Unfortunately, they finished last in the tournament. On July 20, they signed GatsH as their sixth player.

What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
