Rumors about patch 1.02 have been circulating for quite some time, but many hotfixes were still missing and the community could hardly keep up with buff requests. So the news about the leaks is all the more pleasing.
Most people knew that new patch notes were coming. Besides, Morello and co. have already released enough info about the Valorant update. For example, the adjustment of the rank icons and the buffs for the poison agent, Viper. So you can expect a lot when the next patch reaches our servers. But when will it be?
When is the patch coming?
Luckily for all of us, there are a few busy bees in the Valorant community who are making all the hints about the patch public:
The image from Reddit shows that server maintenance has been announced. Likewise, another Reddit thread showed similar messages appearing all over the world, indirectly announcing patch 1.02. For Europe, that would be 03:00 GMT to 07:00 GMT on June 24. During this time – so most assume – the Valorant update is supposed to come.
The suspicion that this time also announces the Valorant patch hardened when Arnar Gylfason, a member of the developer team tweeted: “This will be fixed in tomorrow’s patch”.
The patch would definitely mean a new gameplay for Viper-Mains. They are still slumbering in the snake pit, but soon they will snap. Probably tomorrow.
The patch comes just in time:
We may see the Viper buffs as early as this weekend in the first North American pro tournament. That’s because from June 26-28, the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Showdown will take place. The teams are strong. In the newest star roster is one of the most popular streamers: Ninja! We are definitely excited.
More news and articles about the Valorant Patch or the Ignition Series can be found as always on EarlyGame and the EarlyGame YouTube Channel.
What are Patchnotes?
Patchnotes are specially designed to appear only in the appropriate places.
What is Valorant?
Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.
Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.
The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.
Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
