The long awaited Patch 2.08 is finally live and the guesswork is over. Let’s take a look at what the 2.08 brings.

Patch 2.08 is big and brings important changes. First of all, Episode 2 Act 3 starts with this patch and there is a new Battle Pass. And finally, finally we get a new map again with this patch, Breeze. Honestly, has made us wait so long for a new map, my Icebox has thawed out by now. Now, finally, there is the sixth map for Valorant. Let’s go, let’s take a look at the changes of patch 2.08:

What is the new Valorant Map?

In the last week, we’ve been inundated with teasers. The new map in Valorant “Breeze” will take place in a beach setting. Already during the last week, content creators and pro players had exclusive access to Breeze to test out the map.

In terms of appearance, Breeze is a much more open map, at least compared to the older ones. There will be two different bomb sites, water and ropes.

When does Episode 2, Act 3 launch?

Episode 2, Act 3 launches today, April 27, when patch 2.08 goes live. Episode 3 of Valorant is then scheduled to launch in June.

Patch 2.08 marks the start of the final act of Episode 2, and along with the new features comes a brand new Battle Pass that will allow you to grind in properly. Riot will also release the Forsaken Skin Bundle.

Agent Updates

A new agent? No, unfortunately not this time. Up to now there was a new agent for every new act, but Riot doesn’t seem to be in the mood for that anymore. Looks like agent 16 will have to wait until the next episode.

Map Updates

Breeze

  • Breeze will be released together with an unrated queue, where you can play exclusively on this map for two weeks.
  • More details about this queue can be found below in the update section for rated mode.

Rated Mode

  • For players who want to get to know our new map like the back of their hand, an unrated queue has been added to play exclusively on Breeze.
    • Breeze is also playable in the normal queues for Deathmatch, Spike Assault, and Escalation, as well as in custom games.
    • This queue is only available for two weeks. During these two weeks, Breeze will not be available in the normal unrated and rated queues. After that, the Breeze queue will be deactivated and the card will be available in the existing unrated and rated queues.
  • Attention. Remember, this is the last act where you can upgrade your rank talisman for Episode 2 Act III.

Updates to the game system

  • Coach spots have been added to custom games in tournament mode.
  • Current functionality of coach seats:
    • Coaches can watch games in Tournament Mode, but only from the perspective of the team selected in the Own Game lobby.
    • Coaches cannot use in-game map pings, team chat, and voice chat.
    • Coaches can use cross-team chat and group chat to communicate with a tournament moderator.
    • Coaches can pause a match if this functionality is allowed to players.

General improvements

  • Fixed a bug where the shooting distance of Viper’s Toxin Cloud was 200 instead of the intended 400.
  • Improved the performance of Astra’s Star Nebula visual effects on low settings.

  • Fixed a bug where you could lose your operators in Spike Rush and not get a replacement for them if you picked up a weapon enhancement orb with the operator equipped.
  • Now you keep your operators and also get a random secondary weapon.

Rated

  • Now you keep your operator and also get a random secondary weapon.
  • Fixed a bug that caused act rank badges to be displayed in the loading screens of non-competitive modes.

What are Patchnotes?

Patchnotes are specially designed to appear only in the appropriate places.

What is Valorant?

Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.

Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.

The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.

Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
