“WAKE UP” – that’s the slogan of the latest act in Episode 4, and yes, you should really wake up, because today there are many changes in the game. Besides the new agent, Battle Pass and skin collection, there are also some nerfs and rank changes in Valorant. Let’s take a look at the official patch notes for patch 4.08!

Agent updates

There are some important changes in the metagame. Finally, players can try duelist agents other than Jett and initiators other than Sova. However, Riot has also decided to overhaul Neon quite a bit, which no one really expected. We wonder why? Maybe Riot was afraid that people would just switch to Neon after Jett’s nerfs, but then why wouldn’t they choose Reyna? So many questions, so few answers.

Fade

Fade is finally here! If you want to know how to play her, you should check out our Fade Guide. And don’t forget to follow our Valorant section here at EarlyGame, as we are preparing lore content that will allow you to learn more about her origin.

Jett

  • When E is pressed, Jett uses up her charge of Tailwind and, after a 0.75 sec delay, activates a twelve-second window in which she can sprint with the next button press.
  • Jett’s charge of Tailwind can still be recovered with 2 kills.

Neon

General

  • Battery charge recovered after kills increased 25% >>> 100%.

High speed

  • Slides cannot be cast during docking deceleration.
  • The speed restriction has been removed.
  • Neon can now slide sideways and forward. She only needs to be in motion to do so.
  • Energy consumption has been increased 6.7/sec >>> 10/sec

Fast lane

  • The damage of the wall was removed.

Sova

Owl Drone

  • Duration was reduced 10 sec >>> 7 sec.
  • The health was reduced 125 >>> 100

Revealing the arrow

  • The number of revealing pulses has been decreased 3 >>> 2.
  • The initial delay before the pulse reveals has been increased 1.2 sec >>> 1.6 sec.

General improvements

  • Changed the color of the crosshairs to green to better stand out against the white HUD.
  • Removed the delay in the confirmation text for [GOAL TAKEN].
  • The confirmation text [GOAL TAKEN] now remains on the player’s HUD when exiting “Owl Drone”.
  • The confirmation text [TARGET STOPPED] now remains for 2 sec (previously 1 sec).
  • Owl Dart hit sounds have been adjusted for both Sova and the hit player, and are now more noticeable.
  • Fixed a bug with Owl Drone where the user interface item for the cooldown of the arrow would not update properly when an enemy was hit.

Shock Arrow

  • The maximum damage has been reduced 90 >>> 75.
  • Area damage has been scaled based on the new maximum damage.

Ability Ammunition

Jett’s Blade Storm, Raze’s Full Pipe, and Sova’s Fury of the Hunter now show how much ammo is left when these abilities are equipped.

Updates to the scored mode

Queues for groups of 5

  • Matchmaking has been adjusted to reduce the waiting time for groups of 5
  • For various matchups of groups of 5, the penalty for winning/losing rankings has been reduced.

Iron Diamond 2 groups

  • No RW penalty if all are in the normal grouping
  • 25% RW penalty for all players if any player falls out of the normal grouping

Diamond 3-Immortal 3 groups

  • 25% RW penalty for all players

Radiant groups

  • 75% RW penalty for all players

Bug fixes

Agents

  • Fixed a bug where Jett could not use abilities or weapons if she used “Tailwind” immediately after consuming all the blades from “Blade Storm”.
  • Fixed a bug where Yoru could leave the boundaries of the map with “Surprise Visit”.
  • Fixed several exploits that allowed Yoru to use weapons before being fully exposed at the end of his Ult.

Power

  • fixed a bug on the shooting range that caused bots to reappear unarmed.

So that’s how Act 3 begins! This episode is probably the most groundbreaking of all we’ve gotten so far, and we’re excited to see if Riot surprises us with something different in the upcoming Act 3 updates (and there will only be two).

What are Patchnotes?

Patchnotes are specially designed to appear only in the appropriate places.

What is Valorant?

Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.

Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.

The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.

Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
