In September, the two teams of German streamers Dhalucard and TrilluXe met at the Xtreme Showdown. Team Dhalucard secured the victory and hardly gave TrilluXe a chance.

The Valorant Xtreme Showdown saw teams from Dhalucard and TrilluXe battle it out for a share of the $10,000 prize pool and a place on the German shooter throne. In a best-of-five format, the teams showed off their in Games’ tactical shooter Valorant.

Absolute dominance

On the map, Ascent, Team Dhalucard convinced directly all along the line and hardly gave Team TrilluXe a chance, who, however, could celebrate a comeback on the second map, Haven. From then on it was all downhill for TrilluXe. On Split and also on the last map, Bind, the team around Dhalucard dominated and showed some incredible plays – from multikills to no-scopes, everything was there. Despite some strong actions Team TrilluXe just couldn’t keep up.

Here you can see some of the highlights from the Xtreme Showdown:

Although the result was already decided, there was a bonus round for the spectators, in which Team TrilluXe tried to at least defend their honor with a new agent line-up. But the clearly inferior team did not succeed in this either, so Team Dhalucard was able to secure a respectable 4:1 victory.

With their clear victory, Team Dhalucard secured $7,500 of the prize pool. Team TrilluXe still got a small consolation prize of $2,500. In addition to the prize money paid out, another $10,000 was donated to GlobalGivings’ Corona Relief Fund.

What is Valorant?

Valorant initially appears to be a cross between CS:Go and Overwatch . A competitive shooter where two small teams compete against each other.

Your team is either ready to attack or defend, with the attackers placing a “stinger” (essentially a bomb) that the other team must then defuse or preferably prevent you from placing at all.

The attacking team can win by either eliminating the defenders or placing the stinger and then protecting it from defusing until the timer runs out. The defenders can similarly win by destroying the attackers before they have a chance to plant their stinger, or disarming the stinger after it has been planted.

Each team of five can play as both attackers and defenders during a game. Each game has a total of 25 rounds, with the first team to win 13 rounds declared the winner
