Patch 9.2.7 should be the last patch of the current expansion and brings a few more comfort adjustments for WoW: Shadowlands. For example, the auction house will finally be cross-server and the boost groups will get their own “trade channel”.
WoW: Shadowlands is slowly but surely coming to an end and all eyes are already on the upcoming expansion Shadowlands. Nevertheless, on August 17, 2022, we will get another, albeit small, update for the ongoing expansion. Patch 9.2.7 should be the final update of Shadowlands and mainly brings a few comfort changes that were announced by Blizzard a long time ago.
Among them, for example, that the auction houses will be interconnected with the patch and will then work across servers. However, there is one important restriction. Because only “trade goods” will be cross-server. This includes consumable items like potions and vials, but also crafting goods like gems, ores or herbs. Excluded from the new feature, however, are things like armor or weapons. These will still only be available on the actual server.
Mobile AH and Boosting Channel
Also, boosting groups now get their announced dedicated chat channel. With this, the developers hope, the annoying advertising offers of the boosting guilds (because communities have been banned) will disappear from the common trade and general chats.
And last but not least, somewhat surprisingly for many, the mobile auction house of the Companion App was announced. This was actually discontinued in 2018, but has now been brought back to life in a new and improved version.

UPDATE FOR THE AUCTION HOUSE: CROSS-REGION MERCHANDISE
- Auction houses on all realms in a given region now share set trade goods (gems, herbs, vials, consumable items, etc.). Items that are not trade goods – such as armor and weapons – remain realm-specific.
THE AUCTION HOUSE BECOMES PART OF THE WOW COMPANION APP
- Players now have the following options in the WoW (buy now) Companion App:
- Search and view current auctions
- Bid on auctions and buy now
- Search for auctions
- Remove and add items from favorites list
- View and cancel own auctions
- Developer comment: We are very excited to make the Auction House available again in the WoW Companion App. The new update will allow players to make purchases, view bids, and more in the app. Since we wanted to offer the Auction House feature in a shorter time frame, we’ve excluded listing offers for now. We are aware that selling items was a very popular feature of the previous mobile auction house. However, we wanted to give players access to many of the regularly used features as soon as possible and are keeping our options open for possible future enhancements to the app. We want to make improvements while weighing player usage, risks, and development efforts for the technical framework needed to support future updates. USER INTERFACE AND ACCESSIBILITY
- Added a new chat channel for searching and offering services such as raids, dungeons, or PvP activities: Trade (Services).
- Developer Comment: The Trade chat that has been available in the game for 18 years remains, but we wanted to add a new channel to put messages around requests and advertisements for services like raids, dungeons, and PvP activities into their own lane. If you want to buy or sell these types of services, this is the channel for you! If you’re not interested, you can leave the channel and bypass these types of messages or move them to their own chat tab. We believe that with this new distinction, you can ensure that trade chat is reserved for the traditional buying and selling of items and professions.
