Patch 4.2.4 brings changes to Raynor, Artanis, Swann – eSportsNews eSports StarCraft

The major patch 4.2.4 is available for the game (buy now 15,97 € ) has been released. introduces a whole series of changes to the game balance with the and also fixes a lot of bugs.

The biggest changes to the balancing affect the co-op commanders Artanis, Raynor and Swann. But also Han and Horner as well as Karax are not spared. Bug fixes for Alarak, Artanis, Dehaka, Fenix, Han and Horner, Stukov and Swann as well as Versus are also included.   • The energy cost of Orbital Strike has been reduced from 50 energy to 25 energy.
  • Orbital Strike cooldown reduced from 60 sec to 30 sec.
  • Shield Overload cooldown reduced from 300 sec to 180 sec.
  • Dragoon damage increased from 14 (22 against armored units) to 14 (28 against armored units). Weapon upgrade damage increased from +2 to +1 (+3 against armored targets).
  • The default range of dragoons has been increased from 5 to 6. The range after researching Singularity Charge has been increased from 7 to 8.
  • The base damage of phoenixes has been increased from 5 (10 against light units) to 7 (12 against light units).
  • The cost of the Psi Storm upgrade has been reduced from 150/150 to 100/100.
  • The cost of the Khaydarin Amulet upgrade has been reduced from 150/150 to 100/100.
  • The research time for Khaydarin Amulet has been reduced from 90 to 60.
  • The cost of the Plasma Wave upgrade has been reduced from 200/200 to 150/150.
  • The research time for the Plasma Wave upgrade has been reduced from 120 sec to 90 sec.
  • Replaced Shield Overload Cooldown mastery with Shield Overload Duration and Damage Absorption mastery, which increases Shield Overload absorbed damage and duration by 3% per point, up to a maximum of 90%.
  • The mastery for reduced warp charge cooldown has been replaced with a mastery for energy regeneration and reduced ability cooldown. This mastery increases Energy regeneration and reduces ability cooldowns for all Artanis units by 1.5% per point, up to a maximum of 45%. Affected abilities include Storm Attack and Whirlwind from Berserkers, Barrier from Immortals, Scarab Create from Raiders, Graviton Beam from Phoenixes, and Disintegration from Tempests. The energy regeneration rate of High Templars and Archons is increased by mastery.
  • Artanis’ level 2 upgrade, Guardian Shell, now grants 15% hit point and shield regeneration to allied units.
  • Guardian Shell’s hit point and shield recovery masteries now grant units an additional 0.5% regeneration per point (previously 1% per point). The maximum additional recovery has been reduced from 30% to 15%.

Han and Horner

  • Horner’s units no longer require visibility of the target area for Tactical Warp Jump.

Karax

  • Mirages damage increased from 5 (10 against light units) to 7 (12 against light units).

Raynor

  • Raynor’s units from factories and spaceports now receive 20% bonuses to gas costs (previously 20% bonuses to mineral costs).
  • Banshees now get +2 range when cloaked.
  • Heavy cruisers can now fire while moving.
  • The cooldown of the Heavy Cruiser’s Yamato Cannon has been reduced from 100 sec to 60 sec.
  • Stimpack duration mastery has been replaced with a reduced research cost mastery. The Reduced Research Cost Mastery reduces all research costs by 2% per point, up to a maximum of 60%.
  • The mastery for damage reduction by healing medics has been replaced with a mastery for attack speed of mechanical units. The mechanical unit attack speed mastery increases the attack speed of Raynor’s units from factories and spaceports by 1% per point, up to a maximum of 30%.
  • Mastery for Hyperion cooldown increased from -3 sec per point to -4 sec per point. The maximum bonus has been increased from -90 sec to -120 sec.
  • The Heavy Cruiser no longer requires visibility of the target area for Tactical Warp Jump.

Swann

  • WBFs now benefit from the Vehicle Specialist upgrade at level 1, which reduces the build time of WBFs by 20%.
  • WBFs now benefit from the Tuning upgrade at level 15, which increases the hit points of WBFs by 20%.
  • The hit points of combat hellions have been increased from 135 to 235.
  • The cost of cyclones has been reduced from 150/150 to 150/100.
  • The cost of the Target Finding Optics upgrade has been reduced from 150/150 to 100/100.
  • The research time for the Target Finding Optics upgrade has been reduced from 90 sec to 60 sec.
  • The cost of the Magnetic Field Accelerator upgrade has been reduced from 200/200 to 100/100.
  • The research time for the Magnetic Field Accelerator upgrade has been reduced from 120 sec to 90 sec.
  • Thor’s 330mm Cannon animation start and end times have been reduced from 2 sec each to 0.5 sec each.
  • Increased the ability range of 330mm Cannon of Thor from 7 to 10.
  • The space fighter’s pulse amplifier upgrade has been revised. It now has the following functionality: When the space fighter is in motion, the damage of its Gemini missiles is increased by 100% and the damage of its salvo laser is increased by 300%.
  • The Space Hunter Displacement Field upgrade now grants an additional 20% movement speed to space fighters in cloaked state.
  • The speed reduction of space fighters has been reduced from 2.6 to 1.25.
  • The attack arc of the space fighter’s salvo laser and Gemini missiles has been increased from 0 to 90.
  • The spin rate of the space fighter has been increased from 720 to 1,440.
  • The time between attacks with the space fighter’s salvo laser has been reduced from 1.7 to 1.25.
  • The damage point of the space fighter’s salvo laser and Gemini missiles has been reduced from 0.167 to 0.0446.
  • The Hercules no longer requires visibility of the target area for Tactical Warp Jump.
  • Enemy units near the Drakken Laser Drill’s attack target will now try to find and attack units that give the laser line of sight.
  • Regenerative Biosteel’s hit point regeneration has been increased from 0.6 per second to 2 per second.
  • Laser Drill build and upgrade time mastery has been renamed Laser Drill build time, upgrade time, and upgrade cost mastery. It reduces build time, upgrade time, and upgrade cost by 1.5% per point, up to a maximum of 45%.

    • The tooltip for Fenix’s level 4 upgrade “Upgrade Pack: Offensive Champions” has been updated to show the updated upgrade Ricochet Gleve.
  • Han and Horner
    • The tooltip for Han & Horner’s upgrade to level 7 “Upgrade Package: Spaceport” has been updated to show the increased attack speed of space fighters.
    • The fighter platform now has a “Select Worker” button when building.
    • Fixed a bug that prevented Arachnomines from receiving armor upgrades when buried.
    • Fixed a bug related to the Theia Raven’s hotkeys.
  • Raynor
    • Fixed a bug where Raynor’s level 15 upgrade, Mercenary Ammo, caused a bit too much attack speed.
  • Stukov
    • Stukov’s Apokalisk now has the “Biological” label as intended.
    • Stukov’s Aleksander now has the “Armored” tag as intended.
    • Fixed a bug where the Apokalisk was dealing area damage to its primary target.
    • The Apocalisk’s Tunneling ability now deals ability damage as intended, rather than melee damage.
    • The Infested Colony Building now has “Select Worker” and “Halt” buttons during construction.
    • The Infested Bunker now has “Select Worker” and “Halt” buttons during construction.
  • Swann
    • Fixed a bug where Swann’s A.R.E.S. warbots did not stun their opponents.
    • Slightly reduced the number of intervals of the Capture ability to avoid fractional damage values.
    • Fixed a bug where the Cyclone’s Capture ability was dealing too much damage to Dehaka.
    • Fixed a bug where Swann’s upgrade KMK Self Loader granted slightly too much attack speed.

Versus

  • Overseer and Observer speed reduction no longer delays activation of Spy and Surveillance Mode abilities.
  • When Parasite Bomb is used multiple times on the same target, the glow effect now displays as intended and no longer disappears prematurely.
  • When Neural Parasite is used on a viper that has used Parasite Bomb, the Parasite Bomb effect does not change hands.
