In a Battle Royale like Call of Duty: Warzone, any means is fair, any nasty trick is allowed to secure an advantage over your opponents. One trick with a parachute is so stupid that it’s almost genius. Almost.

While the last trick with the parachute is rather material for hardcore gamers, the latest parachute gimmick fits into the category of bankruptcies, misfortunes and mishaps. But like the time-honored TV show, the resolution at the end provides the “oha” moment.

Warzone “Trick”: No Parachute = No Noise

When you land somewhere in Warzone with a parachute, you always have one problem: it makes a hell of a noise.

It doesn’t matter if the enemy is a meter away, in the basement of the house you’re landing on, or camping in the bathroom after all: first there’s the announcement that an enemy is landing nearby, and then you hear the use of the parachute.

User Sycamonia is playing on Caldera and is out with his team at Peek, on top of the island’s volcano. In order to grab a sniper that is terrorizing the area, Sycamonia uses one of the Redeploy balloons.

This thing fires players high into the air, allowing repositioning. Optimal for surprising an enemy in an elevated position … or for giving the enemy a free kill.

In the case of Sycamonia, however, everything went smoothly. At least the result was right. Because in order not to be discovered, Sycamonia did not open the parachute and landed by belly flop next to the sniper.

The enemy did not detect the landing and one self-revival later Sycamonia was able to bag a delicious kill and not the lousy peek sniper. Stealth kill with a difference.

The thread for the clip managed to garner over 2,000 upvotes on Reddit, making it one of the biggest topics of the past week in the somewhat dormant Warzone subreddit.

Thread creator Sycamonia also speaks up, suggesting that the action wasn’t intentional at all. The user talks about a bug and that it has already happened several times that the parachute did not open.

In this case, however, it was a good thing and possibly something that can be copied.

Otherwise, the mood in the thread is boisterous and many users are laughing at the peek sniper who cashed in up there. They make fun of it and speculate what was going on with the sniper that he didn’t get the “landing” of Sycamonia:

• J_Krezz writes the comment with the most upvotes: “This guy is playing on a TV with people around him, no headphones and a fire alarm beeping”.
• DefunctHunk_COD: “The perfect demonstration that it’s not just sweaty people who use roze skins.”
• nateedaawg: “Intentional? No. Successful? Yes”.
• Daddyofduty: “I bet that guy didn’t have audio. Happens to me all the time. Sad times.”

Ok, we admit, a few things have to come together for this trick to work. The opponent shouldn’t necessarily be playing with headphones on, and a console field of view helps as well. But then the trick secures you easy kills!

But it’s also nice to see that people still have fun in the Warzone.
