PATCHHIGHLIGHTS

New Hero: Baptiste (Support)

A battle-hardened field medic, Baptiste uses a wide variety of experimental gadgets and weapons to keep his allies alive and take out his enemies. Baptiste’s biotic projectile fires three bullets per burst of fire, dealing significant damage if the shooter can aim accurately and compensate for recoil. His secondary fire mode shoots grenades that heal allies near the point of impact. When Baptiste activates Regenerative Thrust, he unleashes a powerful healing blast that heals him and nearby allies over time. In dangerous situations, Baptiste can use his life support field to save allies from death. Baptiste moves across the battlefield with jump jets that allow him to leap over obstacles and cover distances that other heroes can’t. With his ultimate ability, Baptiste creates a reinforcement matrix that increases the damage and healing effects of allied projectiles.

GENERAL UPDATES

Armor

  • Damage against armor from attacks with rays is now reduced by 20%.
  • reduced.
  • Mei: Primary fire mode
  • Moira: Secondary fire mode, coalescence
  • Symmetra: Primary fire mode, self-shooter
  • Winston: Primary fire mode
  • Zarya: Primary fire mode

Regular damage effects are no longer reduced by armor.

  • Ana: Primary fire mode
  • Ashe: Dynamite
  • Hanzo: Dragon Strike
  • Mei: Blizzard
  • Moira: Biotic Sphere
  • Widowmaker: Poison mine
  • Zarya: Graviton Bomb

Developer comment: The damage inflicted by regular damage effects on armor (such as Widowmaker’s Poison Mine and beam weapons like Symmetra’s Photon Projector) varied greatly. Now it is more consistent and predictable.

Increased Damage

  • Increased damage is now calculated when a projectile is fired, not when it hits the target.

Developer comment: Previously, the effects of increased damage were only calculated if the damage-causing hero hit someone and was buffed at that moment. Now the projectile’s damage is increased when it is fired. This means that the projectile will cause higher damage when it hits even if the damage-causing hero is no longer buffed at that moment.

Repulsion effects

  • The distance that heroes are knocked back is now more constant.
  • Flying heroes can now be knocked back and slowed down.

Developer comment: Recoil effects are now not affected as much by how the opponent was moving when hit. There are no longer weak or strong knockback effects that depend on chance. Instead, knockback effects will now feel similar regardless of the opponent’s movement before the knockback effect. Allowing flying heroes (like Mercy during Valkyrie or D.Va when she activates her boosters) to be knocked back creates more fluid and realistic gameplay.

Sound

  • A new sound effect plays when you land a hit while your damage is increased.
  • A new sound effect plays when you land a hit but it doesn’t do any damage.

Developer comment: With the addition of Baptiste, we wanted to make sure that you always know exactly whether your hits have been boosted or blocked, no matter which Hero you are playing.

HELDUPDATES

Ana

  • Nanoboost
    • Healing has been reduced from 300 to 250.

Developer Comment: The instantaneous healing effect of Nanoboost allowed players to survive longer and made Ana’s ultimate ability more valuable. However, it was a bit too strong when healing Heroes with high hit points.

Doomfist

  • Uppercut
    • Cooldown reduced from 7 to 6 sec.
  • Seismic Blow
    • Cooldown reduced from 7 to 6 sec.

Developer Comment: By reducing the cooldowns of Doomfist’s abilities, we’re giving him back some of his power and making his gameplay feel smoother.

Hanzo

  • Sonar Arrow
    • The range at which Sonar Arrow detects enemies has been increased from 7 to 9 meters.

Developer comment: Because some maps are built very tightly, Sonar Arrow can feel quite useless in certain areas. By increasing the range at which Sonar Arrow detects enemies, it should now be more effective.

Junkrat

  • Grenade Launcher
    • Impact damage increased from 40 to 50.
  • Kamikaze Tire
    • The cost has been increased by 10%.

Developer comment: Junkrat is better at clearing barriers and tanks than most heroes in the game, and this change further clarifies his role. The blast damage of his grenade launcher remains at 80, but the total damage from direct hits has been increased from 120 to 130. However, thanks to the grenade launcher’s damage increase, Junkrat can charge his ultimate ability too quickly. We are increasing the cost of his ultimate ability to compensate for the increased damage potential.

Lúcio

  • Turn up
    • The bonus to movement speed from tempo boost has been reduced from 70% to 50%.
  • Crossfade
    • The effect of Tempoboost has been reduced from 30 to 20%.
  • Sonic Boost
    • Sonic Boost now counts for offensive assists.
  • Wallride
    • The bonus to movement speed has been increased from 20% to 40%.

Developer comment: Lúcio’s sonic wave knockback effect is great for knocking enemies into situations where they can be taken out by allies, so you should get offensive assists for it. Lúcio’s ability to increase the movement speed of his teammates was too powerful, especially for heroes with a lot of hit points and low range. We generally weaken Lúcio’s tempo boost, but in return increase the bonus to movement speed from Wallride so that his own mobility isn’t affected too much.

McCree

  • Hail of bullets
    • Damage reduced from 55 to 50.
  • Gunslinger
    • After targets are locked on for 1.5 sec, damage per second is increased from
      275 to 550.

Developer comment: Since we reduced the efficiency of armor for all Heroes, Bullet’s Hail doesn’t have to deal quite as much damage. By increasing the damage of Gunslinger when targets have been locked on for a while, the ability is now more efficient against immobile targets with a lot of hit points (like barriers) and against Heroes with more than 250 hit points. Against Heroes with less than 250 hit points, this change will have no effect.

Mei

  • Endothermic Radiator
    • Primary fire mode damage increased from 2.25 to 2.75 (from 45 to 55 damage per second).
  • Ice Wall
    • Hit points have been reduced from 500 to 400.

Developer Comment: The increased damage of Mei’s primary fire mode makes her combo more powerful, for which she freezes enemies and then fires an ice projectile. If Mei’s ice wall is easier to destroy, enemies won’t have to wait as long for the ice wall to disappear and Mei will be easier to counter.

Moira

  • Biotic Hand
    • Healing over time duration increased from 3 to 4 sec.
    • Total healing increased from 50 to 65.

Developer Comment: With these small changes, the passive healing effect of Moira’s Biotic Hand becomes slightly more efficient when she wants to fully heal allies.

Orisa

  • Fusion Cannon
    • Orisa’s movement speed is now reduced by 30% when firing (previously 50%).

Developer Comment: As a defensive tank, Orisa can run into problems when she wants to advance with the team. By giving her a slightly higher movement speed when firing, she should now be able to pressure the enemy team and use her barrier more proactively.

Pharah

  • Falcon missile launcher
    • The minimum explosion damage has been increased from 16.25 to 20.

Developer Comment: This change resets the minimum damage of the launcher to the values before the patch where we changed the impact and explosion damage.

Reaper

  • Soul Harvesting
    • The healing received from damage dealt has been reduced from 50% to 40%.

Developer comment: A recent change that increased Reaper’s healing from damage dealt was a bit too much of a good thing, and Reaper seemed almost unstoppable.

Soldier: 76

  • Impulse Rifle
    • Damage increased from 19 to 20.
  • Sprint
    • The delay before the can be fired after using Sprint has been reduced from 0.5 to 0.3 sec.
  • Tactical Sight
    • Can now target kamikaze tires and life support field.

Developer comment: With this change, Soldier: 76 should now be able to take out enemy heroes with one less shot. Having less time to fire your weapon after using Sprint will make the ability feel more fluid and responsive. The change to Tactical Sight will make life easier for Soldier: 76 players because Junkrat’s kamikaze tires and Baptiste’s life support field drone are often primary targets and it’s important to target them.

Sombra

  • Hack
    • When Sombra hacks a medikit, the cooldown is reduced by half.
    • The graphic effect has been adjusted to make it clearer when something has been hacked.

Developer comment: Because of the cooldown on hacking, it often felt unnecessary to hack medikits instead of players. With this change, both medikits and players are useful targets for hacking.

Symmetra

  • Photon Projector
    • Primary Fire Mode damage now increases 20% faster.

Developer comment: This should now allow Symmetra to deal maximum damage more reliably with her Photon Projector.

Torbjörn

  • Base hit points have been increased by 50 armor (250 max hit points).
    hit points).
  • Overcharge
    • The armor received has been reduced from 150 to 100.

Developer’s comment: Torbjörn was not resilient enough, so we transferred part of his Overcharge ability to his base hit points.

Widowmaker

  • Infrared Vision
    • Now reveals enemy hit point bars.
    • Now cancels on Widowmaker’s death.

Developer comment: The effect of Infrasight was impossible to counter, so it now ends when Widowmaker dies. To compensate for the higher risk of use, Infrasight now reveals enemy hit point bars for Widowmaker’s team.

Wrecking Ball

  • Adaptive Shield
    • No longer cancels single-ball mode.

Developer Comment: Until now, Wrecking Ball had to disable single-ball mode when using Adaptive Shield, making him more vulnerable. In the future, he will be able to use Adaptive Shield more efficiently to defend himself.

Zarya

  • Particle Cannon
    • The blast radius of the secondary fire mode has been changed to 2 meters regardless of the energy level.

Developer comment: At high energy, Zarya’s damage increases dramatically. Also, her beam and secondary fire mode blast radius increase. This often allowed Zarya to deal too much damage, and it was nearly impossible to dodge the explosions of her particle cannon’s secondary fire mode. With this change, Zarya can still deal high damage, but she will have a slightly harder time actually hitting enemies.

Zenyatta

  • Sphere of Destruction
    • Damage has been increased from 46 to 48.
  • Sphere of Discord
    • The effect has been reduced from 30 to 25%.

Developer comments: Zenyatta’s Sphere of Discord often makes him indispensable as a supporter. We are reducing the effects of Sphere of Discord for Zenyatta’s team, but increasing the potential of Sphere of Destruction to compensate.

OVERWATCH

Overwatch is a team-based 6vs6 shooter that was released on May 24, 2016. Overwatch stays true to the true style of Blizzard’s previous titles. It was developed by Jeff Kaplan and is considered a “new concept” shooter in the FPS genre. The game was officially unveiled at BlizzCon along with 12 heroes on November 7, 2014.

The story of Overwatch is set on a highly fictionalized future version of Earth. In a time where humans and robots, which are called Omnics, live together (Chris Metzen hinted that the story deals with this very robot race). 30 years before the time when Overwatch takes place, the so-called “Omnic Crisis ” occurred. The robots, once helpers of humans, rebelled against their creators for reasons as yet unknown and triggered a worldwide chaos. Faced with the imminent destruction of human civilization, the best soldiers of all nations came together to form a program called “Overwatch”.

Their job was to protect the world from the Omnics, which they succeeded in doing. For the next 25 years, they were the protectors of the planet, united in an international coalition. Some agents stayed, some were replaced, but at some point something changed: the Overwatch disintegrated. However, 5 years later after this event, incidents with Omnics are again accumulating, a worldwide terrorist organization also seems interested in destabilizing the world order. A new crisis is looming. At this point, your career as an Overwatch agent begins.
