OVERWATCH LEAGUE 2019 MVP SKIN: ALIEN AGENT ZARYA
Celebrate the MVP of the Overwatch League 2019 with the skin Alien Agent Zarya! This skin brings together a unique combination of different influences. Her alien form has elements that reflect the charge of Zarya’s particle cannon, and tentacles that glow in her signature pink. Her chic suit, on the other hand, was inspired by retro fashion. For more information about the skin and the league, check out the Overwatch League menu!
GENERAL UPDATES
New feature: queue VIPs for canceled matches.
When a ranked match is cancelled because a player leaves the match early, you will be enrolled as a queue VIP for your next match. This status is indicated by a small icon in the user interface. When you are queued as a VIP, the player assignment will try to find a match for you as a priority. This usually shortens the waiting time significantly.
UPDATES FOR RANKED MATCHES
- – Season 2 for competitive free role selection has begun! You will find this game mode in the Arcade for about two weeks. In this mode, the normal ranked match rules apply, but there will be no role restrictions or separate queues for each role.
HELDUPDATES
ECHO | |
Considering its potentially lethal effect, the range of the Bundled Beam felt too long. Now Echo does have to get a little closer to her target to use the ability, but she’s definitely mobile enough that that’s not a problem.

GENJI | |
We want to increase Genji’s effectiveness in close combat to solidify his position as a mobile hero with high damage spikes. We’ll keep an eye on his overall strength as we simultaneously both increase Reflect’s flexibility and make shuriken damage more reliable.

HANZO | |
The previous combination of changes to projectile speed and Storm Arrow damage had a greater impact on Hanzo than intended. For this reason, we are resetting the damage of the storm arrows to the original value.

UPDATES FOR THE WORKSHOP
The [Attach Players] action can be used to fix players at a certain distance from each other. This allows players to carry each other around. With the action [Start Forcing Player Position] players can be moved procedurally. This action combines well with actions that change variables. The value [Is In Alternate Form] checks if D.Va is traveling without a mech and if Mercy and Torbjörn have their secondary weapon equipped (as well as some other transformations). The values [Is Duplicating] and [Hero Being Duplicated] allow to check Echo’s current status.
New actions for the workshop
- Attach Players
- Detach Players
- Start Forcing Player Position
- Stop Forcing Player Position
New values for the workshop
- Is In Alternate Form
- Is Duplicating
- Hero Being Duplicated

OVERWATCH
Overwatch is a team-based 6vs6 shooter that was released on May 24, 2016. Overwatch stays true to the true style of Blizzard’s previous titles. It was developed by Jeff Kaplan and is considered a “new concept” shooter in the FPS genre. The game was officially unveiled at BlizzCon along with 12 heroes on November 7, 2014.
The story of Overwatch is set on a highly fictionalized future version of Earth. In a time where humans and robots, which are called Omnics, live together (Chris Metzen hinted that the story deals with this very robot race). 30 years before the time when Overwatch takes place, the so-called “Omnic Crisis ” occurred. The robots, once helpers of humans, rebelled against their creators for reasons as yet unknown and triggered a worldwide chaos. Faced with the imminent destruction of human civilization, the best soldiers of all nations came together to form a program called “Overwatch”.
Their job was to protect the world from the Omnics, which they succeeded in doing. For the next 25 years, they were the protectors of the planet, united in an international coalition. Some agents stayed, some were replaced, but at some point something changed: the Overwatch disintegrated. However, 5 years later after this event, incidents with Omnics are again accumulating, a worldwide terrorist organization also seems interested in destabilizing the world order. A new crisis is looming. At this point, your career as an Overwatch agent begins.
