Overwatch: Nepal – Map Guide

The three points to control in Nepal could hardly be more different and all need their own strategy. In our Guide to Nepal, we explain the map to you and tell you where things keep popping up and what you have to watch out for.

To stand a chance in the battles of Overwatch, you not only need to know your hero, but also the map on which you are fighting. In our guide to Nepal, we will show you the most important and how to use them to gain an advantage for your team. In addition to the most important positions for snipers and turrets, we’ll tell you the best side paths to use to flank the enemy team. The overview is divided into two main sections, in which we highlight the most important locations and routes; you can jump directly to the point you are interested in using the following table of contents.

Overwatch: Nepal

The Control game mode demands a completely different approach than the other two modes. A good mix of offense and defense is the key to victory, because the control points must not only be captured, but also defended. However, the approach is extremely different for the three points. While snipers can play a good role at two of them, they are completely useless at the third. Sometimes you need mobile and fast heroes, sometimes the steadfast representatives are needed, who can stand up to a superior force for a few seconds.

Nepal: Point 1 and 2 – Inside or outside – the main thing flank

If you the flank around the control point, you can fire from there towards the center without any pressure. On the point itself mostly the supporters and tanks fight. Since they don’t have any dangerous ranged attacks in their arsenal, the whole thing resembles dummies. However, always keep an eye out that you are not surprised by the enemy in the process. On the outside of the building, very mobile heroes can also flank their flank again to make a really nasty stab in the back for the enemy team.

Nepal: Point 3 – Melee Cave

At the back of the checkpoint is a room where heroes like to retreat to briefly get out of enemy fire and heal up if necessary or wait for reinforcements. The room is also accessible from above via point 4, which makes defending the checkpoint very difficult, as enemies can always attack from at least three different directions. To compensate for this somewhat, the narrow space is often mined or equipped with self-propelled grenades.

Nepal: Point 4 – Flank with shortcut

There is also a flank on the back of the checkpoint, which you can use to stab the enemy in the back and even shortcut down to the point. This is where the melee fighters gather and engage in thrilling duels. Remember the medipack,
before the opponent grabs it.

Nepal: Point 5 – You can’t get in here!

At the beginning of the game, most heroes still choose the direct path to the point to take it, despite the large number of flanks. If you close off this path, be it with an ice wall or even mines and traps, then you have a big advantage on your side. You can set up well and gain a few seconds advantage over the other team.

Nepal: Point 6 – This is Nepaaaaal!

To eliminate an opponent, you don’t necessarily have to bring his health points to zero. In the style of the movie 300, you can also simply send annoying heroes into the depths with a targeted attack. Whether Lúcio’s sonic
impulse or Junkat’s mine – there are plenty of possibilities. Tanks in particular often fall victim to such attacks, as they are easy to hit and can take a lot more than other heroes. To prevent this, you should never stand between the enemy and the abyss. If possible, stay on the side of the wall to be on the safe side. But even if you are alone on the point, don’t get too close to the edge. Pharah’s shaking impulse will quickly come from somewhere and you’ll be looking at the trench up close unintentionally.

Nepal: Point 7 – Take position

In the corners of the checkpoint, the turrets often take up positions to target approaching enemy heroes from there. This way, they not only have the stairs in view, but also the inside flank. However, they are also on display and hardly stand a chance if the enemy shoots at them. A retreat is not possible and with the edge in the back they are a found food for Junkrat and Co. Therefore, play the variant only briefly and then quickly change position.

Nepal: Item 8 – Good view

From the elevated position, you have an excellent view of the conquest point and can decimate the enemy team in peace. Because of the distance, heroes with precise weapons like Soldier: 76 are especially suited for this position. You’ll also be relatively safe here, as only very mobile enemy heroes can reach this position, and you’ll be able to hear them from around the corner. So prick up your ears!

Nepal: Point 9 – From the bottom to the top

The path below the point is good for falling into the enemy’s side or back. However, it is so obvious that you can assume that you will always encounter an enemy hero here. In that case, be careful that he doesn’t send you over the parapet into the depths. Most of the time, the duel is decided by who grabs the medipack and thus has the advantage on his side. After that you can get to the enemy’s side and either open fire immediately or keep a low profile and keep running. The further you get into the enemy team’s half, the higher the element of surprise when you shoot the heroes in the back. Heroes like Junkrat, on the other hand, simply stay down and fire their grenades over the wall from a safe distance.

Nepal: Points 10 and 11 – In the middle is the action

On the point, a very chaotic fight usually breaks out from several tanks, supporters and other heroes. Whoever stays alive here has the best chance to win the game. To do this, use every trick you have at your disposal. Blocking out the enemy with an ice wall is extremely effective. But also any kind of shields or mass healings are worth their weight in gold. If you’ve lost the point, don’t attack alone under any circumstances, but wait a short while and gather as a team. Only those who act in a coordinated way have a chance to regain the point. If you hold the point yourself, then spread out to the corners so that you can provide each other with fire protection. And don’t forget about any mines and self-fire systems that may be deployed.

Nepal: Point 12 – Unnoticed from above

The third checkpoint is located on the lower floor of a house. However, the upper floor is therefore not irrelevant, quite the opposite. If you position yourself here, you have a good overview and can directly cover running enemies with your projectiles. Most of the time they have their eyes on the lower part of the house and are surprised when missiles and the like are already flying towards them. If you get under pressure yourself, you simply retreat behind one of the walls.

Nepal: Point 13 – Snipers beware!

At the upper end of the large area are the preferred positions of the snipers. From here you can easily take parts of the checkpoint under fire. With a bit of luck, you will only be noticed when your victim looks at the killcam. After a few hits, however, the enemy team will know exactly what danger threatens from there. Then it’s time to change position quickly to avoid being surprised by the enemy yourself.

Nepal: Point 14 – Slaughter in a confined space

On the checkpoint, a very dynamic carnage occurs. Unlike other points, where you fight until the hero lies in the dirt, here frequent fleeing and re-attacking is on the agenda. The two exits and many adjoining rooms mean that there are always opportunities to retreat. The transparent spots in the walls also let you always know who is attacking or standing on the point to defend. This means that there are rarely any nasty surprises. Despite this, players still try to position guns in the corners of the point. However, we can only advise against this, as it is rarely crowned with success. Turrets whose position is known to the opponent are usually useless.

In Overwatch, heroes fight in a variety of locations around the world. From the technological wonder Numbani to the production center Volskaya, each map has its own layout and very specific conditions that your team must fulfill in order to win.

The battles of the heroes of Overwatch will be fought on the various maps. At the same time, the locations differ not only because of their scenery, but also their modes.

If you want to play successfully in Overwatch, you need to know not only the heroes, but also their surroundings. After all, the different maps offer a variety of flanks to stab the enemy team in the back, in addition to the main path. However, not all of them are suitable for everyone. We’ll also show you the most popular places for snipers and where turrets like to hide. Knowing the position of the medipacks is also a big advantage in the battle. We will show you all this in our detailed map guides. For a better overview, we have divided the maps into the three game modes. We’ll start with point capture and then move on to cargo transport/escort and control.
