On the Dorado cargo transport map there are many hidden routes through which you can stab your enemies in the back. While one point is almost impossible to defend for the attackers, the other two checkpoints are a tough nut to crack. In our map guide to Dorado, we show you all the important points on the map.
To stand a chance in Overwatch combat, you not only need to know your hero, but also the map you’re fighting on. In our guide to Dorado, we’ll show you the most important locations and how you can use them to give your team an advantage. In addition to the most important positions for snipers and turrets, we’ll also tell you the best side paths to use to flank the enemy team. The overview is divided into three main sections, where we highlight the most important locations and routes. You can use the following table of contents to jump directly to the point that interests you.
Overwatch map guide Dorado: The first checkpoint
Dorado Point 1 – The Shortcut
If an attacker manages to sneak straight ahead or across the path on the right at the beginning, he can get behind the enemy ranks. Heroes like Hanzo, Widowmaker or Junkrat can move over the wall at the point marked on the map. This way, you’ll surprise the enemy, distract from your team, and dust off a few kills.
Dorado Point 2 – The location for snipers and turrets
From point (4) you will go directly to point (2) on the map. This small vantage point is the perfect sniper position or alternatively the right place to position yourself as a bastion/tortjörn. However, unlike a similar spot on the Kingsrow map (first checkpoint), you are a bit more in the spotlight here, although you can easily take cover behind the walls on the left and right. This position is only good if the charge is just around the first turn in front (5) and your team (preferably consisting of melee fighters) distracts the enemy long enough. Always keep an eye on point (4) when using this position.
Table of Contents
Once you pass the bottleneck at (5) and slowly push the defenders back to the first checkpoint (the locked gates), you can keep left and take the second sneak path. Heroes like Soldier: 76, Tracer or Reaper are suitable for this – just about anyone who can reach the position in a short time. When you pass the house, you will come across a large medipack. After a short walk through the house, you’ll reach the left side of the gate, where you might surprise a hero or two.
Dorado Point 4 – Here ranged fighters intercept the stragglers
Even if the attackers have already made it through the bottleneck at (5), heroes like Hanzo or Widowmaker can intercept the stragglers who died in between at this point. Heroes like Tracer or other nimble heroes also have the ability to stab attackers in the back and get a few kills. This causes the attackers to fall back and you can then attack them again at the starting point. The attackers themselves can also attack the point from the other side if it is not occupied by the defenders. Heroes like Widowmaker, Hanzo or Genji can jump up the ledge and surprise the enemy. The more attention you attract at this point, the more time your teammates have to advance the charge.
Dorado point 5 – close the bottleneck
After the attackers have gained some air, you will have to shoot at them again at the intermediate passage (5), preventing the cargo from moving further. Attackers, on the other hand, can protect the cargo and their teammates by positioning a Reinhardt in front of the cargo or placing a Winston shield. Defenders, on the other hand, should try to place turrets like Bastion and Torbjörn’s Tower towards this small passage.

The second checkpoint is the most difficult to defend and is almost ignored by defenders. Attackers can now get behind the defenders’ ranks via the house (see point 7), and the entrance behind the checkpoint can be easily shot at by heroes like Pharah or Junkrat. You can try to position yourself on the rooftops with some heroes, but the rooftops don’t offer too much protection.
Dorado Point 7 – The Secret Path
After checkpoint 2, you can run behind the house at point 7 and surprise your enemies from behind. Once you pass the second checkpoint as an attacker, you will enter the large hall. Directly on the left is a room with a medipack, which – as we recommended – is under fire from turrets and snipers. Below it is the ban symbol, from which enemies can jump out, but they rarely do. Heroes like Hanzo or Widowmaker can get back to the upper level directly above.

Dorado Point 8 – For Snipers/Towers
At this position, you can strafe the enemies as the charge goes around the first turn of the last checkpoint. The two gates directly in front of you are a point where the attackers often try to take the medipack. Widowmaker and Bastion have an easy time here and can easily pressure the players. However, at this point you must always keep an eye on the passage to your left – attackers can run up here.
Dorado point 9, 10 and 11 – The remaining points at checkpoint 3
Point (10) is difficult for the defenders to secure, but once the cargo arrives at this narrow spot, you can shoot at it with heroes like Pharah, Bastion or Junkrat. Roadhog also has an easy time with his hook. The attackers then have to use the side entrances more, which causes the cargo to stand still for a while. The targets marked with (8) are ideal for ranged fighters, but they must always keep an eye on the side corridor (7). Attackers can run up here and surprise the defenders. Point (11) provides some cover for one of the two teams, depending on the game situation. At point (9) there is a spawn point for the defenders. The defenders can use this position to pressure the opposing team and seek cover again.
Overwatch Maps
In Overwatch, heroes fight in a variety of locations around the world. From the technological wonder Numbani to the production center Volskaya, each map has its own layout and very specific conditions that your team must fulfill in order to win.
The battles of the heroes of Overwatch will be fought on the various maps. At the same time, the locations differ not only because of their scenery, but also their modes.
If you want to play successfully in Overwatch, you need to know not only the heroes, but also their surroundings. After all, the different maps offer a variety of flanks to stab the enemy team in the back, in addition to the main path. However, not all of them are suitable for everyone. We’ll also show you the most popular places for snipers and where turrets like to hide. Knowing the position of the medipacks is also a big advantage in the battle. We will show you all this in our detailed map guides. For a better overview, we have divided the maps into the three game modes. We’ll start with point capture and then move on to cargo transport/escort and control.
