Cyborg Genji Shimada has made peace with his augmented body, which he once rejected, and discovered a higher level of humanity as a result.

As the youngest son of the master of the Shimada ninja clan, Genji lived a life of luxury and privilege. He did not take much interest in his family’s illegal business, and although he passionately pursued and excelled in his training as a ninja, he spent most of his time living like a playboy. Many within the clan saw the carefree Genji as a risk factor and resented his father for coddling and protecting him. After the clan leader’s untimely death, Genji’s older brother Hanzo demanded that Genji take a more active role in their late father’s empire. Genji refused, which greatly angered Hanzo. Tensions between the brothers escalated into a violent confrontation, at the end of which Genji was near death.

Hanzo believed he had killed his brother, but Genji was saved by Overwatch and by the intervention of Dr. Angela Ziegler. The Global Security Force saw Genji as a possible ally in their ongoing operations to fight the Shimada clan. As the severely injured Genji wrestled with death, Overwatch offered to restore his body in exchange for his help. He underwent an extensive cyberneticizing process that improved his natural speed and agility and increased his superior ninja abilities. Now transformed into a living weapon, Genji set out single-mindedly to crush his family’s criminal empire.

But as time went on, Genji struggled more and more with himself. The mechanical parts of his body disgusted him and he could not come to terms with what he had become. When his task was complete, he left Overwatch and traveled the world in search of a deeper meaning. He wandered for many years until his path crossed with that of the Omnic Monk Zenyatta. Although Genji initially dismissed Zenyatta’s wise words, the good-natured Omnic was not swayed. In time, Zenyatta became his mentor, and under the monk’s guidance, Genji reconciled his dual existence as a man and a machine. He learned to accept that his human soul was intact despite his cyborg body, and he eventually saw his new form as a gift and a unique strength.

Now, for the first time in his life, Genji is free. Even he can’t say where his path will ultimately lead him.

OVERWATCH HEROES

Heroes are the main element in the game Overwatch, as the player can freely choose between them and their class and later play them.

In Overwatch you’ll find a variety of heroes: from the time-traveling adventurer to the armored, rocket-hammer-wielding warrior to the meditating robot monk. Each of the heroes plays differently, so mastering their abilities will only unlock their full potential. No two heroes are alike.

In Overwatch you can expect an international team of powerful heroes, each of whom has made a name for himself in his own way.

OVERWATCH

Overwatch is a team-based 6vs6 shooter that was released on May 24, 2016. Overwatch stays true to the true style of Blizzard’s previous titles. It was developed by Jeff Kaplan and is considered a “new concept” shooter in the FPS genre. The game was officially unveiled at BlizzCon along with 12 heroes on November 7, 2014.

The story of Overwatch is set on a highly fictionalized future version of Earth. In a time where humans and robots, which are called Omnics, live together (Chris Metzen hinted that the story deals with this very robot race). 30 years before the time when Overwatch takes place, the so-called “Omnic Crisis ” occurred. The robots, once helpers of humans, rebelled against their creators for reasons as yet unknown and triggered a worldwide chaos. Faced with the imminent destruction of human civilization, the best soldiers of all nations came together to form a program called “Overwatch”.

Their job was to protect the world from the Omnics, which they succeeded in doing. For the next 25 years, they were the protectors of the planet, united in an international coalition. Some agents stayed, some were replaced, but at some point something changed: the Overwatch disintegrated. However, 5 years later after this event, incidents with Omnics are again accumulating, a worldwide terrorist organization also seems interested in destabilizing the world order. A new crisis is looming. At this point, your career as an Overwatch agent begins.
