Out of nowhere, Blizzard has released new information about Overwatch 2 after a long wait. The closed beta for the new PvP content will start at the end of April and will not only include the new game mode, but also a new hero and new maps.
One could almost think that Blizzard has buried the project Overwatch in the meantime, so quiet it has become around the successor of the popular team shooter. But now, out of nowhere, Aaron Keller, the game director of Overwatch and successor of the very popular Jeff Kaplan, has spoken out in a video and announced the start of the closed beta of Overwatch 2 for the end of April. Beforehand, however, he apologized explicitly for the fact that they had again let so much time pass without providing players with any new information. However, that is to change now.
Afterwards, he revealed what will happen next. The most important point is probably that the developers have decided, to separate the PvE part and the PvP part of Overwatch 2 during development, so that the latter could be brought to the players faster. And that’s exactly what would happen now.
In an internal alpha, to which, in addition to Blizzard employees, selected players such as professionals of the Overwatch (buy now 52,47 € ) League are invited, the new content will be tested promptly. However, according to Keller, this is under NDA – so there will be no public information about it. The closed beta phase of Overwatch 2 – more precisely, of the game’s PvP content – will start at the end of April.
This is included in the beta for Overwatch 2
