#Soccer clubs and the national team from Russia have been removed from FIFA22. #EASports has made this step with the Title Update #9.
With the Title Update #9 EA Sports has finally followed the previous words with actions – even if with more than one month delay. Since April 13th Russian clubs and the Russian national team are not playable in FIFA 22 anymore. Furthermore the corresponding items have been removed from the Ultimate Team mode.

In addition to the clubs and the national team, Otkritie Bank Arena is also no longer available. It is the home ground of Spartak Moscow. This applies to all modes, from Kick-Off to Career and Ultimate Team.
The players of the top Russian clubs from the Premier League, such as Zenit St. Petersburg, Dinamo Moscow and ZSKA Moscow, are also heavily affected by these changes. All of these clubs and their players can no longer be found in the soccer simulation. Thus, players like center forward Fedor Smolov, who play in the Russian league, are also completely deleted.
Players remain in top European leagues
Some Russian players are still present in FIFA, active for clubs outside Russia. This is the case with international players such as Fedor Kudryashov, who is active as a central defender for Turkish first division club Antalyaspor in the Süper Lig. The same goes for striker Aleksandr Golovin from French club AS Monaco. The players are still available on the transfer market in Ultimate Team.
Russian players are also still available for selection in the Bundesliga. These include goalkeeper Andrey Lunev of Bayer Leverkusen and midfielder Vladislav Cherny of Arminia Bielefeld. Meanwhile, second-division club FC Schalke 04 has changed its main sponsor. Because the club parted ways with Gazprom, the housing company Vivawest has been adorning the royaal blue jersey in FIFA 22 since the latest update. The 18-year-old Russian Yaroslav Mikhailov, who is on loan from Zenit II until the end of the – Season , can still play for S04.

The Ukraine conflict is the trigger of the striking measures for EA Sports. The publisher has continued to emphasize solidarity with the Ukrainian people and wants peace as well as an end to the invasion of Ukraine.
