New progress update for Rocket League released – ntower

Since yesterday the new progress update is available in League available. Thus, the Nintendo Switch variant has been upgraded to version 1.1.0. We would like to briefly summarize what this means for you. Progress update includes everything that is relevant for Nintendo Switch owners:

New content

  • Rocket Pass 1 will launch on September 5

Changes and updates

General

  • The garage in the menu has been made clearer, so among other things the gate explosions can be found faster
  • From now on you can own 200 keys for lootboxes
  • On Nintendo Switch, the font size in TV and handheld mode has been improved
  • Viewer camera: view variant is now also synchronized the same for all viewers
  • Updated color schemes in some arenas to better differentiate team colors
  • Controller vibrates when joining a game

Progress

  • Gaining experience points and leveling up has been reworked from the ground up
  • Experience points
    • You can only earn points in online matches (competitive and casual games)
    • Experience points are composed of the length of the match, not the final score
      • You will receive scaling for every second of a match, including overtime up to 20 minutes
      • The game must run for at least 60 seconds to receive experience points
    • New bonus XP added: Score, MVP, Consecutive matches in casual mode, Padding a match with a bot, Weekly wins.
    • You will receive experience points only when you finish a match
      • Quitting early counts as finishing a match
    • Points scoring during a match has been revised: Goals, assists, saves, and clearances continue to give points; contacts, aerial hits, and backslides no longer give points
      • However, all traits will still be recorded and viewable in your career stats
  • Level ups
    • From level 20, the levels require a certain number of experience points
    • Level 75 has been removed, there is no level cap anymore
    • Redistribution
      • All players have been redistributed to a new level based on several factors, including the number of total online matches played and XP accumulated
      • Players with level 40 or below will receive their same level
      • Players above level 40 get a higher level than before
      • Players who were already at level 75 will receive additional level ups based on total online play
  • Reward
    • Avatar frames were added new
    • These can also be obtained when leveling up next to the titles
    • Once you get a frame, you can change its color in the garage menu item
    • You get a new frame with every 25th level up to level 300. After that, a new frame can be unlocked with every 50th level up.
  • Unusual items you get online
    • Players receive a random unusual or higher item every time you level up
    • However, these are no longer given randomly as rewards after normal games
  • Title
    • Title you get when you reach a special level
    • You keep all the titles you have previously obtained
    • You can now switch through each title you get in the “Garage” menu item.
    • “Rookie” and “Semi-Pro” have been removed
    • The new sorting now looks like this:
      • Veteran: Level 20
      • Expert: Level 40
      • Master: Level 60
      • Legend: Level 80
      • Rocketeer: Level 100
    • Additional new titles you get from every 100th level after level 100
    • More titles will be available in events or Rocket Pass
  • Giving up a match
    • Voting can no longer be started in the remaining 90 seconds of a match
      • 1vs1 matches do not have this limitation
    • However, you can still quit if the teammate leaves the match
      • Quitting still gives you the opportunity to receive experience points
      • If you quit the match before that, you will not receive experience points

Bugfixes

General

  • Fixed issue with spotlight camera after a match when players have left the game
  • Fixed an issue where reconnecting to a match would fail
  • The appearance of ‘Mainframe Decals” has been corrected
  • Chat input was lost when a popup element appeared
  • Fixed an issue where “ball trail” effects were shortened at high frame rates
  • Appearance of “89 Batmobile” has been fixed
  • The track of the wheels of the “99 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34” are now displayed correctly
  • Thumbnail of ‘K2’ Wheels now show the correct color
  • Battle cars no longer appear as invisible to some players
  • Titanium white ‘MDGA’ sticker no longer appears as gray
  • Event currency notification is now displayed correctly after a match has ended
