New operator balance in Rainbow Six Siege: Patch 2.2 with Finka nerf – eSportsNews eSports RainbowSix

In Rainbow Six: Siege, there is once again a lot going on in terms of operator balance: Patch 2.2 is now live and drastically changes the equipment and damage values of several characters. We summarize which changes you have to be prepared for.

Finka boost becomes weaker

  • Finka’s ability now lasts for 10 instead of 20 seconds
  • Speed boost when aiming through Finka’s boost reduced from 50 to 25 percent
  • Stun grenades replaced by frag grenades
  • Increased damage from gas grenades from Smoke during boost reduced

Ubisoft’s background report on the reasons for the balance changes clearly states: Finka is supposed to become weaker due to these nerfs.

When using their ability Adrenaline Rush, better timing and consultation with the team is required in the future. Previously, you could spam the boost in quick succession and maintain it for a full minute.

IQ was too powerful

  • IQ loses her frag grenades and gets a claymore mine in return
  • The range of her detector gadget drops from 20 to 15 meters

Ubisoft clarifies that IQ will be able to detect because of her combination of high speed (3 Speed) and strong weapons like the AUG and the 552 Commando is already very strong in combat. This is also reflected in their victory rate in the diagram.

However, due to the increasing amount of electronic defender gadgets in each new – Season , their scanner also became passive more and more powerful and is now being weakened. Further changes to IQ are planned for the future.

Changes to Thatcher & more: This is what Ubisoft plans for R6 Siege

Jackal sees further

Jackal can see footprints in the future over a distance of 8 meters, instead of scanning 5 meters as before. This change is intended to raise its low pick rate somewhat and reduce the risk of coming under fire when detecting prints.

It will also allow Jackal to better scan footprints that are one floor below him in the future, such as when explosive charges open up a line of sight through the floor. This should make his kit significantly stronger in certain situations.

Sniper nerf

  • Blackbeard’s semi-automatic SR-25 now does 61 damage instead of 72
  • Blackbeard’s rifle shield has 50 instead of 60 hit points
  • Faster movement speed when Blackbeard has the shield equipped
  • Blackbeard’s Mk17 (SCAR) does 49 instead of 42 damage
  • Glaz’s OTS-03 sniper rifle now does 71 instead of 85 damage

The semi-automatic rifles from Glaz and Blackbeard were extremely strong in almost every situation, as evidenced by the win ratio in the graph. Blackbeard becomes a bit more flexible to the higher speed and better MK17. Glaz’s is toned down to make him a bit more situational.

Twitch’s FAMAS also collects a slight nerf from 40 to 37 damage to somewhat counteract its extremely high pick rate. Frost’s weapons, on the other hand, will be upgraded – she’s been bobbing around at the lower end of the scale with Castle and Tachanka.

The barbed wire gadget will also receive a buff: from now on, attackers will be slowed down by 50 percent instead of the previous 45 percent when moving through barbed wire barriers. Defenders can use it to keep the areas around the mission objective clear a bit more reliably. Finally, Dokkaebi trades her claymores for stun grenades.

On the official website you can find the full patch notes with all changes & bug fixes.
