Netflix hit “Arcane”: This dead character could return in – Season 2 – but in a completely different guise – Series News

There are many indications that we will see the return of a character long thought dead in – Season 2 of “.” We think the popular theory is very plausible, which is why we want to warn you as a precaution: It could be a spoiler!

The “ of Legends” series “Arcane” has taken the hearts of viewers by storm and is even considered by many to be the best video game adaptation of all time. There are numerous reasons for this success: “Arcane” captivates viewers with insanely good animation, multi-layered characters, a gripping plot, but also with one or two emotional character deaths. One of the characters who seemingly died in – Season 1 could actually return – but in a completely new form: We’re talking about .

Did Vander survive?

We remember: Episode 3 of “Arcane” comes to a dramatic climax. Vi, Mylo and Claggor infiltrate ’s base to free the kidnapped Vander. But they fall into a trap. Due to Vi’s fighting , they still seem to get away scot-free, but Powder causes an explosion in which Mylo and Clogger die and Vi is buried under rubble. While Vander tries to save them, he is nearly killed by a Shimmer-enhanced henchman of Silco.

In desperation, Vander injects himself with the super-powered chemical and thus manages to save Vi from the final explosion of the building. But in the fall from a great height, Vander appears to have been mortally wounded. With his last breath he gives his foster daughter the order: “Take care of Powder” and dies in her arms – or does he?

A theory widely circulated on the Internet is that Vander didn’t finally die here at all. Instead, he is supposed to return in – Season 2 as Warwick.

Will Vander become Warwick?

Warwick is a playable character from . The wolf monster created through horrific experimentation was one of the original 17 “LoL” characters available at the game’s release on February 21, 2009, rather than being added over time.

This is Warwick from League of Legends

Warwick’s backstory, detailed on the official “League of Legends” website, fits very well with the character Vander introduced in “Arcane” in some respects:

“Though many consider Warwick to be nothing more than a beast, buried deep beneath his anger lies the spirit of a man – a gangster who laid down his sword and took on a new name in order to live a better life. But no matter how hard he tried to move forward, he could never escape the sins of his past.”

Vander is a criminal who once instigated a violent revolution, but then laid down his arms to live a peaceable life. And he, too, has been caught up in the mistakes of his past.

Vander in “Arcane”

The only thing that makes us a bit puzzled is the word “sword”, because Vander prefers to fight with his fists, which he reinforces with iron boxing gloves. But it could be that “Arcane” alters Warwick’s origin story a bit or that the sword here just serves as a metaphor for his willingness to fight. The following section makes the possible connection to Vander even clearer:

“Warwick strove to recall a single memory from his past…. All he could see was blood. But then he heard a little girl scream. She was screaming something he didn’t understand. It sounded like a name.”

After Vander’s supposed death, a rift occurs between Powder and Vi. The latter pushes her sister away. Thereupon Powder shouts her full name Violet several times.

The transformation into a monster

In the course of Warwick’s story, the scientist Singed, who also appears in “Arcane”, plays a major role:

“Warwick does not remember how he came to be in Singed’s hands, and can scarcely recall the time before his suffering began. The scientist patiently cut him down to size, installing pumps and tubes to inject chemicals into his veins to achieve what every alchemist strives for: Transformation.”

It is quite conceivable that Singed, who after all worked for Silco for a while and also developed the Shimmer, grabbed Vander’s supposed corpse after the finale of episode 3 and subjected him to just such a transformation.

Especially since Warwick was probably even seen in “Arcane”….

Warwick was probably already seen in – Season 1

In episode 9 there is a short moment in which we see Singed mourning. He is looking at a picture that presumably shows his daughter (“LoL” fans speculate that it could be the character Orianna). The camera zooms out and after a cut we see the shadowy outline of a figure that looks very much like Warwick:

Netflix
Is that Warwick in “Arcane”?

The claws are there, the green pumps also a heavily hairy body. However, the wolf-like snout is still missing, which could indicate that it is still an intermediate stage between Vander and Warwick.

Another clue is provided by the – Season 2

Last but not least, watch the final seconds of the teaser for “Arcane” – Season 2:

With the howling sound and the metallic jingling, fans suspect a reference to a piece of music that belongs to Warwick):

Based on all these clues, we firmly believe that Warwick will appear in – Season 2 of “Arcane”. Whether it will actually be Vander or some other previously unknown character transformed by Singed remains to be seen. However, there is a lot to be said for the Vander-is-Warwick theory.
