Modern Warfare 2: Leaks show more about multiplayer in 2022’s new Call of Duty

Where did the leaks come from? On the one hand, the new leak is based on and expands upon insider Tom Henderson’s previous Modern Warfare 2 discoveries. On the other hand, the data comes from Warzone Mobile, the files were scoured by leakers. All previous information (as of July 18) has now been classified by CoD expert eColiEspresso.

Please note, however, that all findings by dataminers and the like should not be taken as official news. The proverbial portion of skepticism is therefore appropriate with leaks – even if we only refer to trustworthy sources.

These modes are supposed to come to MW2: The dates promise plenty of fodder for Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, with many classic modes to be playable right at release on October 28. CoD expert eColiEspresso has listed all found game types for you:

The fact that standard modes like Team Deathmatch are included should come as no surprise. However, it is a bit disconcerting that Capture the Flag, for example, is missing. The popular Gunplay mode will probably be replaced by Knockout, which is supposed to work similarly according to experts. With All or Nothing, players can expect a kind of party mode with fun matches in between in Modern Warfare 2.

Remember, just because modes are missing doesn’t mean they’ll never make it into the new Call of Duty. The last major releases of CoD parts showed that modes can also be added later after release. If your favorite game type is missing (so far), it could be just one – Season away.

Modern Warfare 2: New images of 8 multiplayer maps surfaced

These MP maps are available to see: There are now images of completely new maps for the multiplayer of . These are seen for the first time in high-resolution screenshots and join the previously known classics leaked by insider Tom Henderson.

We present you 2 tweets with 4 maps each from the new leaks. You should see the loading screens of the multiplayer there. You might have to be quick. Because publisher Activision might have the pictures removed from Twitter:

The four maps that Henderson says will return in Modern Warfare 2 are Highrise, Quarry, Terminal and Afghan. Among veterans of Call of Duty, these maps have cult status. However, the 4 new maps from the fresh leak can also be seen – again, Activision might have the images removed:

It is noticeable that the images are strikingly colorful for a Call of Duty from Infinity Ward. Expert eColiEspresso likes that. Because in his opinion, Modern Warfare’s beautifully designed maps have often been quite monochromatic and drab so far. So this time, excellent map design could meet chic visuals, we are curious.

Modern Warfare 2: Killstreaks or Score Straks, what can we expect in the new Call of Duy?

Here’s what the leaks have to say about the killstreak rewards: In the multiplayer of CoD, briefly retrievable supports, so-called shootdown series, play a major role. When a heavily armed jet shoots your way out or you yourself fire from the air as a gunner in a helicopter, it’s a great feeling. This is only topped when the enemies run away from the powerful juggernaut, which slowly but unstoppably stomps around like the Terminator.

According to the leak, what powerful gadgets are now known for Modern Warfare 2? So far, it still looks pretty meager. But in the data these reward series were found:

  • Cluster Strike
  • Fuel-Bomb (Gasoline Bomb)
  • Thermo-Strike
  • These 4 launch series are assigned to Black Ops in the data, not Modern Warfare 2:
  • Pavelov
  • AC-130
  • F117 – Stealth Bomber
  • Harrier Jump Jet
  • Keep in mind that in all likelihood many of the fan favorites from Modern Warfare will be returning

Kill Streaks or Score Streaks? Traditionally, the debate over kill streaks causes heated tempers. In Modern Warfare 2, is it Kill Streaks (rewards for kills in a row) or Score Streaks (rewards through points of all kinds)? One camp says you should only be rewarded for your kills, others think that this would create fastball effects. So no one would take zones and assists would be unimportant. Score Streaks, however, would reward such tactical play more.

Fans declare war on “Bloom” in Modern Warfare – feature to return

Experts suspect that players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be able to choose for themselves whether they want kill or score streaks. They conclude this from the lack of certain perks and settings that don’t show up in game data and leaks. So you could customize, whether that satisfies both camps?

What do you say to the latest leaks? If you can’t wait, you’ll soon be able to get your hands on Modern Warfare 2: The beta is scheduled to arrive in September.
